I'm guessing they did a power upgrade when they did the drive upgrades.
I talked to Rik about converting my old 382 and he said they had done 5 of them. All picked up roughly 10 mph with the same engines after the conversion.....aside from the cost, I just couldn't have those props hanging way back there since the kids swim off the boat every weekend.

This is why I made a propeller guard so that this is not an issue

Rik was the notch not an issue?

DirtyMoney 08-17-2010 03:55 PM

Any loss of speed or performance from the prop guard?

Notch was not an issue an the propeller guards do not affect performance at all.

Rik,

How much hp and torque will that set up take? And, how much modification to transom and/or engine placement to convert from a Bravo type set up? Transmissions?

Thanks, db

I rate them at 850 hp. Most have more though.

No glass work as they cover the Bravo cutout.

1350 BAM's

Engines stay in the same basic Bravo location. TRS applications allow the engine to come rearward.

Sounds better and better. You really got me thinking now.
