I'm in the market for a cig and have a deal on a late 90's 42 revolution with merc. racing 900SC's and #6 drives. It needs some work, but it is all there.

I know the Revolution wasn't the most popular model Cigarette has made, especially here in the USA. Has time been kind to this model, meaning has it's popularity increased since it is no longer built and somewhat different from the masses? What would this boat be worth in today's market if everything was tip top and shining?

I didn't even know they made them into the LATE 90's - I thought they were already making straight bottom Tiger's by then, but I could be wrong.

In my opinion - Time has not been kind to them relative to the TG's/Cafes. They have all depreciated, but I don't think the Revos have depreciated LESS than the TG/Cafe models. Different isn't always good (Barack was different).

Late 90's Revo? I'd like to see that. I was under the impression the last one was built in the very early 90's. The 4 flat deck revolutions/evolutions paved the was for the tigers in the mid 90's.

Markets hurtin on the revo's from what I've seen. I agree with everything seafordguy said except I thing the Evoo has actually dropped below the guns in price or at the maximum is seeing same price point as guns. That deck just doesn't sit well with many. If I owned one I'd put canopies on each side to make it look "finished" think the 43' Larry smith hulled Eliminator. I think with 1/4 canopies coming up it at least update it a bit. Just my .02

The Revolution is an aquired taste for sure. A friend had a 92 42 Revo with triple 750 Hawks SSM IV's. It was a monster in big seas. They also had a huge cabin if you're into entertaining on board.

Last Revo was build in 1998 and was red with Merc 900 SC's and #6 drives. My guess is that is the boat in question? Over here you can't give them away, my guess is that it is the same on uor side of the pond. I for one like them a lot and they run awsome in rough water!

I love the revolution design. Big issue was the deck was very heavy and the full cabin killed the performance. The flat decks with cover girl cabin or no cabin ran like scalded dogs. I always wanted to get one and pull the deck to lighten it up and go with a lightened half cabin.

Cigarette man is right! It is a 1998 with 2 #6drives. Can those "pods" on the deck be removed and gauges relocated or is it glassed in? My thoughts Were to make the cabin into cover girl, unclutter the deck, and maybe expand the cockpit aft for a second row of bolsters for a total of 7 seats if space permitted. I might be able to get this well below the current market of even the TG's with bravos, and I wouldnt have to worry about breaking bravos any more!

Everything ive read the Revo is a hard sell and something you would have to really want as you would be sitting on it a while. Also if they are Merc 900's they are the worse engine built to day by them . Valave trains just dont hold well together. Its a cool boat and maybe a good buy if bought right.
