pretty sure it's paint. this is a boat that with a paint job and a mild update would be timeless to have and run.

if thats the case grab a few gallons of gel safe paint stripper and get that 80s paint job off there. all white with a new cig logo and that boat would be perfect!! wish i could swing it.

Yep. And add a simple black/yellow hockey stripe to tie in the dash and cabin for now too. A simple fix to tie it all together.

I would happy to put a GRP 33 moisture meter anywhere on the transom or stringers and take a picture for anyone that is serious about buying it and not just talking about it.

Tommy is a marine surveyor by trade, and has been a well respected member of the Mid-Atlantic boating community for as long as I can remember. This boat is solid, and Tommy is legit. Good luck with the sale my friend.

Unfortunately for me the drive train and the hull of this boat is worth more in parts than the whole boat is put together. I have bought a motorhome and no longer interested in running a boat this size. If some one is interested in the drives or motors or hull, I will part it out. I just hate to take apart a great old school setup. Let me know if you have any interest. This is not a fire sale!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Brian. Like any 26 year old boat there are some issues. That is why I call it a running project. All interested people should call me and I recommend them hiring their own surveyor and go from there. No BS or no drama. It all about what you are looking for.

I wouldnt take it apart for anything, its the perfect cafe....just needs a little update....if I didn't have this damn Baja it would be mine...I am actually surprised it still hasn't sold....

Good luck with the sale, I think its a great deal for what you are getting. I am sure someone will get it, and be happy. Short money for a great boat.

Why would you doubt the Stringers and transom to be dry??

I know this boat. It has all the goodies. You're not buying a new boat. Sure any old boat can use upgrades. I'm doing it to a 91 Top Gun right now. Built two new engines from New Merlin III block and two new sets of Aluminum Broacd Heads. Plus a new set of Konrads to replace the TRS drives. I've already spent what Tommy is asking for his Cafe. Great price then spend as you need on it. But you can drive it like it is.

Do so love the racers but they are priced out of reach, this ones getting close. Sent email.

I still can't believe this.....Good luck with the sale. If you part it out (slow process) you would be ahead in the end of 32K. Just a thought, it would be sad.

I am surprised also. Don't get me wrong this is still a project for the right person, especially someone that paints but you are right, it is worth more in pieces.

How many hrs. on the twin engines?......what HP & top speed? ......salt water?.......Thanks, Scippy

less than 150 hours on the engines and drives. Never dynoed in this setup but should be 600-625. Engines were ste up to be blower motors so the compression is modest. Boat ran 75 and its best was 77. It has been in fresh and salt water and always flushed regardless.

I just sold my Cafe (traded it, actually, so it's for sale somewhere, for more than twice the price of this one) - this is a rediculously low price for a no apologies off shore design. If the boat is half of what the owner says it is, anyone remotely in the market should snap this up.

Go on Youtube and look up "cafecig1" I put up a couple of short vids of the engines starting up.
