Boat is running condition but will make a great project for someone who can paint it and has the time to do it.

offshoredrillin 02-24-2012 08:25 AM

Great project for someone, good luck with it Tommy...I've heard this boat..sounds great! Good solid platform for a redo!

lucky strike 02-24-2012 09:31 AM

Sweet deal....That should be sold quickly at that number. Best of luck. Whats next?

Not sure but something smaller.

rumrunner29 02-24-2012 11:06 AM

Looks like a great project boat!!

Hollowpoint 02-25-2012 06:09 PM

Good luck Tommy. Should sell at that price quick. Wish I had the bucks for it. Sure sorry to see it leave the area.

88bullet 02-25-2012 07:25 PM

is it paint or gel?

offshoredrillin 02-26-2012 08:23 AM

pretty sure it's paint. this is a boat that with a paint job and a mild update would be timeless to have and run.

88bullet 02-26-2012 08:34 AM

if thats the case grab a few gallons of gel safe paint stripper and get that 80s paint job off there. all white with a new cig logo and that boat would be perfect!! wish i could swing it.

oreo11zeus 02-26-2012 08:46 AM

Buy it like you stole it

This a a deal if the transom and stringers are dry but I doubt it - Great rigging for an old lady! www.Fast1Charters.com

Yep. And add a simple black/yellow hockey stripe to tie in the dash and cabin for now too. A simple fix to tie it all together.

jeff32 02-26-2012 11:34 AM

nice promo shots!

I would happy to put a GRP 33 moisture meter anywhere on the transom or stringers and take a picture for anyone that is serious about buying it and not just talking about it.

Sydwayz 02-29-2012 09:45 PM

Tommy is a marine surveyor by trade, and has been a well respected member of the Mid-Atlantic boating community for as long as I can remember. This boat is solid, and Tommy is legit. Good luck with the sale my friend.

Offshoreracr 02-29-2012 09:46 PM

Unfortunately for me the drive train and the hull of this boat is worth more in parts than the whole boat is put together. I have bought a motorhome and no longer interested in running a boat this size. If some one is interested in the drives or motors or hull, I will part it out. I just hate to take apart a great old school setup. Let me know if you have any interest. This is not a fire sale!!!!!!!!!!!!

Offshoreracr 02-29-2012 10:08 PM

Thanks Brian. Like any 26 year old boat there are some issues. That is why I call it a running project. All interested people should call me and I recommend them hiring their own surveyor and go from there. No BS or no drama. It all about what you are looking for.

rumrunner29 02-29-2012 10:14 PM

I wouldnt take it apart for anything, its the perfect cafe....just needs a little update....if I didn't have this damn Baja it would be mine...I am actually surprised it still hasn't sold....

cigrocket 03-01-2012 07:32 AM

Good luck with the sale, I think its a great deal for what you are getting. I am sure someone will get it, and be happy. Short money for a great boat.

Offshoreracr 03-23-2012 10:52 AM

Why would you doubt the Stringers and transom to be dry??

I had my TA's off about a year ago and they looked like this.

TexomaPowerboater 03-23-2012 04:40 PM

Maybe he's been reading all the cigarette restoration threads............

Harvey 03-23-2012 07:13 PM

I know this boat. It has all the goodies. You're not buying a new boat. Sure any old boat can use upgrades. I'm doing it to a 91 Top Gun right now. Built two new engines from New Merlin III block and two new sets of Aluminum Broacd Heads. Plus a new set of Konrads to replace the TRS drives. I've already spent what Tommy is asking for his Cafe. Great price then spend as you need on it. But you can drive it like it is.

TDSracing 04-17-2012 08:21 PM

Do so love the racers but they are priced out of reach, this ones getting close. Sent email.

Offshoreracr 04-25-2012 10:09 AM

Sstill for sale!

I still can't believe this.....Good luck with the sale. If you part it out (slow process) you would be ahead in the end of 32K. Just a thought, it would be sad.

I am surprised also. Don't get me wrong this is still a project for the right person, especially someone that paints but you are right, it is worth more in pieces.

T-RAV 04-25-2012 10:52 PM

If I had the $$$ I'd be all over this. Good luck with the sale.

scippy 04-26-2012 06:43 PM

How many hrs. on the twin engines?......what HP & top speed? ......salt water?.......Thanks, Scippy

Offshoreracr 05-16-2012 02:24 PM

less than 150 hours on the engines and drives. Never dynoed in this setup but should be 600-625. Engines were ste up to be blower motors so the compression is modest. Boat ran 75 and its best was 77. It has been in fresh and salt water and always flushed regardless.

Offshoreracr 07-11-2012 02:47 PM

$28,000

BDiggity 07-12-2012 08:25 AM

The link to the ad doesn't work. Could you re-post it?

Holy Smokes 07-12-2012 11:22 AM

WOW! Why hasn't this sold!!!! So tempting.....

Offshoreracr 07-12-2012 11:28 AM

It is definately a project but it is at rock bottom now. If it doesn't sell I am parting it out.

twinskrewd 07-12-2012 03:33 PM

Aww, c'mon people! Somebody buy this thing so I don't have to!

DucBoy 07-12-2012 03:45 PM

I just sold my Cafe (traded it, actually, so it's for sale somewhere, for more than twice the price of this one) - this is a rediculously low price for a no apologies off shore design. If the boat is half of what the owner says it is, anyone remotely in the market should snap this up.

Offshoreracr 07-12-2012 03:48 PM

Go on Youtube and look up "cafecig1" I put up a couple of short vids of the engines starting up.
