Default Who Knows This Tiger?

http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o44612-en.html

My buddy is looking at this boat. We'll may do semi-partnership deal on it so I'm looking it over.

Beautiful boat with fresh mild blower motors, XR's. It looks super clean and surveys well but it is a 1999 so getting close to 15 years old.

Anyone have any knowledge of it (besides the owner who I am assuming is a member here )?

Thanks.

Tigers are great boats and this things looks nice and clean but the weak link here is the drives. I have a Twin Step Tiger and it had XR's that held up pretty good behind 675's but I would say with750 and a straight bottom you will need to update the drives to something better. I just ordered Imco SCX Extremes so we will see how they do. It is approximately $20-$30k to to do the swap but you can sell your stuff if you don't blow it apart.

The drives are my main concern. That and the steel (vs aluminum) trailer. Are the Imco's bolt up or do you have to mod the transom?

I'm running 630 hp and 670 tq through my xr's on my 2000 Tiger and have never had a problem, one drive lower let go at 472 hours. Imcos will bolt right up with a helmet change.

440 hrs.
If you buy this with 750hp blower motors with the constant torque you will blow drives how often and how bad will determine on your driving. I would at least buy a spare. But in opinion if the boat can be bought right then the drive upgrade could factor in. One thing for sure you won't have to turn around and go home because it is to rough out
