FWIW, I'm a big fan of the Thunderbolt IV w/the V6 module. It works well for your application, simple, reliable and can be diagnosed with a test light. No, it does not come with a rev limiter, but if you have to have one the HP500 carbed rev limiter will connect right up to the TB IV.
I've experienced too many MSD failures to ever consider that route again.

Mild is right!!!! Crane is the way to go. They hook right up to the MSD coil and Distributor. It also has a indicator light to show you whats going on and built in adjustable Rev limiters. Plus they are black and go with every paint option. It sucks running with a spare MSD box waiting for it to go out.

Thanks to all of you who responded. I am going to have to ditch the idea of the MSD 6ML and consider getting the rev limiter for what I already have - the Merc V6 box. The Crane box also sounds good since I wouldn't have to get a rev limiter and it would be a new system. Onwards, Bill

The carburated 572s now have older Mercruiser V6 ignition systems, but I don't believe there are rev limiters. Does anyone have a suggestion on what ignition system might be better? I am leaning towards the MSD 6ML package with the billet ditributors, but I am open to suggestions. Bill
or daytona sensors make a better box than msd..set it with a laptop..http://www.daytona-sensors.com/CD1.html
ps the daytona box looks like what crane use to sell,,crane box's are NLA so the daytona sensors are a identical match to cranes..

Ditch the MSD. Cost me a couple tow ins, and eventually an engine. Theres a reason "if" you see them in a race boat they have two moduels and a switch to change over mid race..
And spares in the truck....
