Hi Tommy like Mild said which stud ?
RG. |
I believe Tommy possibly did some grinding to the rear "rod" that holds rear trim rams, allowing the drive to tuck "in" more. I`m out of ram at that point.
Rick Id say 1" below bottom would be a good middle ground between planning and speed. Ive tried a few 4 blades and after 15 minutes of trying everything could not get on plane ( with the 2" spacers at about 1.5" below bottom)... that begs the question; with a good prop that has a good amount of cup you could run a higher X dimension and still have good planing? I think its a combination of both prop and depth.. I think depth may be a bandaid for bad props. 5 blades deep in the water (no rooster) is hard on drives.... Ideally Id like to get a 4 blade that would work with a 1" spacer...with good planing and better acceleration and around 5600 rpm.. right now shes kind of a dog at the top. Theres a few props I have my eye on. Id love to know how the spacer with the cavitation plate works for planning... I can have my guy make one locally. I wish Franks marine would chime in hes got some combinations under his belt... oh yeah and I finished the drive install after a long day at about 1 am... I messed up the ram location, noticed it in the water and had to do some beach mechanic work lol |
