Default (going from 17.5 x 28 5 blade)

Well just as an update the 17 3/4 x 27 4 blades got me on plane in 8 seconds @ 3300 rpm planes like a Baja!!.... but I only gained 100rpm up top
That being said last time top river speed was 78mph, this time it was a solid 80... 81 Theres a lot more speed in this boat if I could pull some more rpm

ICDEDPPL it good to see you have solved the planning dilema. Now that my notch is done I am contemplating putting in either an 8' or 12' box ( go figure). What drive hieght or X demension are you running, Is your prop shaft level with the hull or still above. Mine without the box and with the notch is setup to be an inch below without any spacers.

IMO that's a good spot. If you want to rig higher and come down with spacers that will give you more tuning options. I'm interested in what some of the Top Gun guys that have made similar mods have to say.

rick what drives are you going to run? i can measure my friends notched #5 on boxes boat for ya. his walks up on plane pretty easy. his boat was a trs boat that got rerigged with the boxes and speedys. when they rigged it they were a little on the high side and added a spacer. my guess would be to help it eliminate the top fuel burnout getting up

If i were to do it again Id go with a 1" spacer which would put me about 1/2" below bottom. 1.5" below as I have it now works just fine gets on plane (which has more to do more with prop cupping) but no rooster.

These vids are no spacer like Kris set it up which I believe (correct me if I`m wrong) is .5" above bottom.
