Did that for 2 years then decided to back to school to become the Canadian equivalent of a CPA , been doing that for 30 years . I have always Been a motor head . Still have a correct 1964 corvette coupe and a 1969 camaro pro street I built up from a 300 dollar beater .

It is a sickness I'm sure but it keeps me off the streets.

Hey Al maybe this summer we will have to rip it up around town. But first I have to fix the hole in my boat.

Rick G, cool (ballsy) project.

One thing that drives me nuts on my notched cigarette is inside the eng compartment. When water gets on the notch from the inside, it is pretty much trapped up there. I would try to add some slope going from the transom, towards the bulkhead so the water will drain off. Even if you do this by just adding filler in the back and then faning it down to nothing. Or maybe a drain hole.

Boomer you are bang on, the Scarab I had did the same thing . I had already planned once all the structural work was complete to add a sloped planel so that water doesn't sit there and turn green with algie . The other thing I noticed when I was prepping the bilge was that the insert that Cigarette laid in to mount the bilge pumps on was completely soaked and rotten . I removed that and am going to fab an all fiberglass mounting bracket there by eliminateing any rot issues. The other thing the notch will help with in my particular case is , as I am not coring the notch the through hull raw water pick ups and drain plug will have no way to wet the transom as it did in the old set up .

don't think we can do it to my (previously yours) Scarab... transmission interferance may/will be an issue with the stagger plan...
