Here are pictures of the 84 flat deck, side-by-side, with a full interior, Cigarette that I had several years ago, running PSI blown BBC, #5 drives on Stellings box's. The best top speed I ever saw on GPS was 104.

What propshaft height did you use on the new 6's? I have heard of 1.5 inches above the bottom is used now?
The one thing that was clearly obvious to me while boating in the keys last week was that it's a completely different animal in salt water as opposed to the brackish water of home (Chesapeake Bay). First off, the boat didn't stop as fast when I would let off the gas in the salt. At home, it seems to slow down and come off plane much faster. Secondly, I was able to trim the boat at lower speeds and experience no porpoise whatsoever. In the brackish waters of home, I can not trim the boat at all without having to "drive" it. I have to trim it just a little bit at a time and let the boat settle in before trimming it further. Running in the salty blue waters was much more enjoyable and I was able to just trim it like a Bravo boat.....but I'm not sure if it's worth it due to the massive amounts of cleaning that I had to do to get all of the "stuff" off.:angry-smiley-044::angry-smiley-044: |
