I'm in the middle of a conversion now. I looked at the Konrads but just couldn't come up with the cash with out cutting many other things on the list. In the end I hope to have 525's efi and bravo with imco shorty lowers.
If I get mid to high 70's I'll be happy

525's is not going to put you past 75, and probably more like 71-72......

Agreed. The best money I a ever spent on my Cafe was having BBlades lab up a set up 26's for me. I gained a solid 3-4mph in cruise and top end. Remember the Cafe likes positive trim and carrying the nose to gain speed. Shorties might not give enough leverage. As far as Cafe vs Bullet, I would say it depends on the boat. I loved my Cafe but I have always been a big fan of the Bullets. I must be old school because they are still some of my favorite boats out there. Go find one that someone put a pile of money in and now wants to move on. Don't buy a project boat even if you do the work yourself you will not come out ahead. Good luck!

I am a Konrad guys. Love the idea and reliability. I believe when you get into the 700+ Hp range they make more sense than the Bravo's on these heavy boats when they are run in areas like the Great Lakes or Ocean. They do come up in the swap shop or classified here and there but are expensive. As for the TRS, I've never blown one with 450HP in a race 28' Cigarette and multiple 38' Top Guns with 750HP. Problem is one day parts are gonna be harder to find than they are now.
