It does help to be long legged. Not sure about stand up boat.

Once you sit down u will never want to stand again! Way more control. It's nice when everybody in the boat is sitting.

I'm 5'7" and never had any issues seeing over the bow when getting on plane in my Gladiator. It was a very, very short period where I would lose sight of the horizon. My wife is 5' 2" and had no issues seeing over the dash when on plane. Her legs weren't quite long enough to touch the foot rests, so she would wedge her foot on the dash when we got into rough water. My Gladiator seemed to plane out with less bow-rise than my TG T/S actually...

Same with mine. I don't think I will ever own a stand up boat again..
