What did you end up deciding to do for power in the Cafe? Going supercharged or N/A? Everyone loves motor builds. Can't hold out on us now. We came to far !

true, build specs would be good, engines are always fun to read about!! I thought 525HP?

tim never said you were a dik with the post im just saying lets not bring the thread back with vengeance please. the motors are 505ci (i think) N/A, being built by a board member with all new everything. dont ask me specifics, i dont have the total build sheet yet, i just know theyll make the power and speed and not blow up on the guy, and they have a warrantee which the owner wanted. the boat that i painted will, im sure be posted by the other board member on here if they see fit. as for the 525 route well, that was a gamble that didnt pay off. i got them in the top gun i acquired and they were get this, "supposedly" running...( werent hooked up all the way, etc) sold the idea of the engines to the owner before i got the engines out of the boat, once i got the engines to the builder for a refresh we found both blocks full of water, rusted, and utterly useless. so at this point i called up the owner, explained to him the situation...i was going to bite the bullet and put some low hour hp500's in his boat that i had a line on, so he didnt need to dish out more cash for my gamble, along with the hp500's i gave him a few other motor options we had, and after much back and forth, he decided on going the 650 route built from scratch. then called me asking me what i thought about the konrads, so i found a brand new set never ran, bought em, picking them up once the great north east catches a break from the snow they are getting lol i am very excited to see this boat come back together the way i wish i was able to do from the get go!

it was just some older business man from up in VT area. he owned the boat since new in miami and ran it and maintained it with open checkbook, (have all maintenance records and survey done about 4 years ago) but he brought it up to lake champlain, popped a motor, long story short, he was helping out a local mechanic who was going to pull the motor and rebuild and put back together, then said mechanic gets arrested and boat sits on a trailer covered up for 2-3 years i think...boat owner is getting sued by said incarcerated mechanics brother for "storage". the owner of the boat is from montreal QC and has a house on the lake, and is very busy, didnt really care about not having the boat. thats the story. the hull is structurally very sound, just needs some loving. the price was very right, the terms worked for me, and the day i saw/picked up the boat it was rainy cold windy day and wasnt going to mess with it. batterys were so dead i had to jump the hatch actuator under the seat to raise the hatch once i got home. the first time he saw the boat in 3 years was the same time i saw it and he was sick on how bad it was, he got the cockpit totally redone 4 years ago and it already needs to be redone again because the mechanic destroyed it. to be honest, i think he made it sound better than it was, but also i dont think had any idea how bad it was... probably a bit of 50/50. he told me once im done with the boat he wants to go for a ride and has first dibs on buying on LOL

Do You really think we believe people are standing in line with 10's of thousands of dollars to have you build/restore a boat for them? Kid you haven't even finished 1 boat yet... You have been working on the same boat for a year; if I remember correctly you were pretty hyped about making $10,000 when it sells... At the rate your going you will be making $5,000 a year. You have NO Reputation and I seriously doubt anybody is willing to give you money yet.

funny you say that your sure no one is willing to use me, i just received another 20 grand check in the mail on friday from the owner. hey, you know whats going on up here in the great white north huh? and yeah, people are willing to give me cash to build their boat, and also willing to give me their boat to paint as well...

Boy do you have a lot to learn about business. You are airing your contract amount on a public forum that happens to be a very small community. You had better hope your buyer/owner whatever the f*ck you want to call him doesn't find out you are telling the masses about the checks he is sending to you (I don't believe anhone has sent you a check for 20k btw).
