I agree with interceptor and sun rocket on many of their points.
The cafe was supposed to be the modernizing step in the cig lineup, transitioning from the flat deck/mistress era to the more modern feel. Following that theme, all the great cafe Restos we've seen on here, that even stand a chance of bringing decent money, have all updated the boats which is what most people want - carbon fiber dash like stecz did, pop up cleats like SKRAMER has, heads up indicators, new switch panels like on the new stepped boats, etc.....
I can appreciate the work you did, but unfortunately you've taken the cafe and made it look like a mistress with that color scheme and interior. That checkered pattern bench seat is either very European or very 1970's jersey diner - either way, not fitting for the boat.
Frankly for 49k I'll deliver mine with a full tank of premium, a cooler loaded with mid grade liquor, and a used cigarette t-shirt that has a small mustard stain on it from one of the "power for a cure poker runs".

The only reason Phil got chit was when he said he was gonna redo the entire boat for 10,000 or so, in very little time, many said it cant be done, he said he will show us, that was on FB not here of course.... that's the ONLY reason he got chit from us.... was very cocky.... maybe he isn't now but he sure was then.... and I also said at the time that his labor himself still needs to have a number on it, he said it didn't matter since it was his own build to sell for profit, well do all you guys do labor for free? I know I put a number on myself when doing a project or work on cars I sell like my Mustangs I part, my time is factored into my profits... you must pay yourself as that time could be spent making money elsewhere...hey more power to him of he gets top dollar, but its just not gonna happen, if I was him I would just keep it and enjoy the first one and use it to show off my work if its that nice, I do think some cheap fixable things could have been addressed to help justify a 47,000 asking price... like gauges and some cabin work.I know some guys agree with me but would never admit it here...

Went and dug into the "bullet rebuild" folder here at the house. Try not to look at numbers when doing so. That early t/s gun is getting closer by the day to the rebuild coast. The dash as we all know can be very expensive a dash can be. all new electrical panals(dash, tabs/drives, under Seat and in cabin) new style toggle switches and coustom cored gauges I am in $4000. Can see why he didn't want to do that.
Just a painted panel from the black would change the look for a few bucks in paint.

you can find deals on gauges and redo a dash for WAY under 4000... I have done it....don't have to be crazy expensive to be new... or even a real nice set of used gauges, and paint the panels would do wonders and its cheap to do...

Man, I have been behind you, tried to offer encouragement and advice,,,, You NEED to do the dash!! Its a major focal point. It needs to be modern and it needs to pop. Look at how I did mine, completely different yes, but I brought it up to date. modern switches, heads up indicators, (you can do trim sticks pretty reasonable) etc. The steering wheel looks like you ganked it from a civic in the high school parkinglot.. Im not dissing your work, Im trying to help you get it to the level you want it to be, you need to make everything catch the eye yet all flow together, Thats where the artistry and talent come into play.

That's what I was getting at. Just a painted panel would be a huge difference.
I went way over board and hand all new CNC cut and Ingraved lettering on panels , painted and the toggle lettering was a different color ,top of the line toggles and each guage face was custom made.
