No, they did not. It was the first year of the TS. Miami two step and rice hauler were hulls one and two after the lip-ship world champion f2 boat. They were still building straight bottom guns as well. It was a huge year of transition for cigarette. Changing cabins around, new hulls, new aesthetic changes, coming out of the single step debacle... First time the gun had started a visual transformation that's been pretty ongoing since. Hull sat dormant (design wise) for 13 years!!!

I called for sh!ts and giggles...one obvious exclusion from the auction was hours...broker said it there were 365 on hull and less than 100 on engines. initially he said engines were replaced. I asked why... then he rescinded and said they were rebuilt. in the end he had no idea. not sure what the story is there. asked the same question on drives...said they were original untouched. not sure if they have been gone thru. he said cosmetically the boat is very clean aside from some rub marks on the starboard side. he also said he's been convincing the owner to sell for a while as he is 78 years old and has some health issues. I guess it has lived in NJ it's whole life. When in use was rack stored in building and sat on trailer in shrink wrap during storage. guessing it's an all salt water boat? no idea.

Not sure if this helps anyone who is interested. Figured Id post what information I received.

there is more than rub marks on the boat. Went to see the boat a week ago and the port side has a lot of scratches and the starboard side has some paint damage to. Next buyer will want a new paint job.

Was it really salty? Did you test for moisture in hull / transom? What shape was it in other than the paint rash?

We just went over and looked at since it's only 5 minutes away. That's all that I could say really. From what it sounds like the interior is new and is in excellent condition.

I certainly don't want to spread rumors as I have not seen the boat in person but I find it odd that an older guy whom probably doesn't owe any money on the boat chooses to auction it off with NO RESERVE!!! To me that screams peculiar. If this were the scenario, you would think he would just broker the boat and wait for it to sell and get top dollar. idk...just seems off. or I could be totally off base and someone scored a smokin deal.

I have been watching this boat all week. The auction ended with a final of $71100.

Easy Dave. There's smokin deals to be had out there. You should hear some of these prices I'm hearing boats bought for! Makes this thing no deal. Seriously.
