Default 38 flatdeck Chine issues

Are 38 flatdecks known to have issues with cracking along the chines? I saw a 38 for sale that looked good for its age, despite having cracks along the chines. Is it a structual issue?

Might want to check stringers and transom for rot or cracks from the boat getting beat up. Just my 2cents , I don't know any specifics to a cig though. It might not be a bad idea to put a straight edge on the bottom before you buy it, to check for abnormal hooks.

May have been improperly supported or transported at one time as well. I've seen people lift\ move\ cradle boats in crazy ways.

How supported is the bottom when running in rough water for hundreds of hours?

Sounds to me like either some rot going on, or simply abused. Any pics of the cracks? Are they running vertical or horizontal?

Like I said earlier, I am no glass expert, but that right there would scare me.

Agree with Mild, looks like lots of flex going on especially for a fat deck....is it the red Flat Deck in Cleveland?

You better run from that boat. Don't even think about it.
