I did mine through Dave at MDG, being as he is doing my engines and had it's going there for the rerig, he and I sat down and put together a plan and a budget. you can reach him at 410-956-5381... For the money and all that I wanted to do horsepower wise, im doing everything included new transom assemblies, gimble rings etc. the money spent for the piece of mind was well worth it.

I love my SCXs . I was going thru XRs like crazy. I am at 750 HP with Stellings boxes. I also had Brad Smith take out all the guts of the stellings and mill a longer shaft so I could use a drive coupler vs just bolted to flywheel like other set up. New helmet and I already had newer Gimbals so I didn't do those.

2 yrs Trouble Free !!! Thinking about sending them back to Imco just to go thru for piece of mind this winter.
Well except for the hinge pin bolts all backing out. Check them Regularly!!!

I'm using my XR lowers, after speaking with Craig at Wilsons, they are the most hydrodynamic, I'm sending mine to them to get blueprinted. On a big boat like mine the drives like to be low, so i should be fine. Its worth a try to me anyhow, I've only had one drive failure and it had close to 500 hrs on it.

I have SCX lowers but have been thinking about Wilsons blueprinting also. I did lose a few mph but gained ALOT of confidence.

Mine is a T/S

Please update any gains afterwards please, interested in the cost/gains of doing this. I'm sure it varies quite a bit.
