I had a local marine mechanic say thats how he times an engine, "BY EAR". And this same guy was working on a Nortech with Turbines that week. I wouldnt let him change my impeller.

Initial and carb idle adjustments can be done by ear.....if that is what they are referring to.
If they are referring to advance curve and total timing...then...well....their ears will hear it blow up at some point.

Ok, plan as of now, selling off pro comp heads, rockers and all.....
Looking at AFR 325's from Bob M. his cams, Morel lifters....
Scorpion rockers most likely, pushrods to be determined....
