Jim. I am not even close to a glass guy. What happened was I removed the inside glass and the rotted wood. When the back was cut out they left about an 1-1/2 all the way around. That's what kept the sides, top, and bottom true. Then the boat and the transom were ground to a 45. After that the inside has multiple layers of glass as well as a couple on the outside. Hope this helps. I can get more specific info if need be.

That's extremely helpful and a great idea! I never thought about cutting out the majority of the glass but leaving enough to keep the stability! Yup, I think that's how I will do my transom! Much easier from the outside! :). Your boat is really starting to look good, can't wait to see it done!

Thanks
Jim

Thanks Jim. If you do not touch the inside fiberglass that will also hold everything together. I would ask someone with more knowledge on how to tie it back in if you are going to go that route. Definitely easier standing.

Sorry Dan going to have to practice on your ride. I already have this one figured out

What did you do about the HIN#, did you cut around it or remove it. I only ask because I recently went to look at a boat that didn't have a HIN # on the transom. Thanks
