As I agree boats are not investment, I think you can mitigate you're so called use / loss costs upfront by buying smart. As with my current boat I know I will never recover what I have in her with my Mitcher T paint and all interior re- do's etc.etc.etc.. However I would put a value on most up grades already being done.and not in a way that would not be attractive to others. We all know boat upgrades are a timely and costly endeavor.
I appreciate everyone's input as I struggle if even a good time to make the jump. Will cost me $10,000 to modify my garage at the lake to even accept this thing... 24 x 40 garage I said would be plenty big.. damn!
Although I would tow little,, with my 31 I can easily pull out and fill tank in town.. 120 gallons at $2.00 is pretty sweet compared to almost $4.00 at the marina's..
Than there's my wife and kids who absolutely love our current boat, everything about her...
I've had many many boats throughout my life starting with my 1979 checkmate exciter when I was in the Navy at 19 and I loved everyone, jets, cuddys, single eng, twins bla, bla, bla. This would probably be my final go-fast before I take the leap into pontoon hood with a rocker, fishing pole and a cooler full of beer.... Just turned 50 wtf happened.. Lol. ( although tri-toons now have twin 300 out boards). Thanks again Cig owners..

The power now is Mercruiser 525sc's with Bravo drives.. After doing some research not a real powerhouse and cant really do to much more to them.. Supposedly they have 35 hrs. on them... Even if you did a little HP upgrades you still have the Bravo issues. Granted I don't hammer throttles.... My current Bird has 454mag mpi's and at mid throttle she has allot of get up and go when you mash it.. I'm just not a speed demon, just a little bump now and then to hear her pur....

People who are serious buyer's skip the BS on these threads. Everything sells sooner or later if its priced right and not an abortion. I have sold a few boats in my time and haven't made any money off them really. I can tell you that when I do sell something I have a clear conscience . Alway's in better condition then when I purchased it.
When I put my skater up for sale years ago I had so many tire kicker's but I answered all the questions and in the end the right buyer came in a pulled the trigger. I would like it to be as painless as possible for both sides.
