What's the perfect power/drive set up for a 38TG TS

A 525 boat with ITS is a way better boat than one with 500's and no ITS. My Top Gun with 525's, XR's, and ITS with 32 lab finished four blades runs 86mph at LOTO. Would run more in salt water. If you were buying a brand new one today. I would think either the new 540 or the 565, both with DTS, would be the best route to go. Either one of those motors would put it at 90mph or above. With nice reliable power and a good warranty.

Mine gets on plane pretty good. I have 380 K-planes, put them down to a 2or3 on the indicator. I am never hard on it out of the hole so the boat doesn't blow out the props. I can get the props to blow out if i wanted to, but i usually ease into it and let it do its thing. At LOTO we have a 30mph night time speed limit and the boat stays on plane at 25-27mph with the tabs down.

I drove Bens boat quite a bit before he bought it. When PBC initially bought the boat, it had non labbed 32s and 280 Kplanes. We switched to 380s and labbed 32s and it made a huge difference. The non labbed props would blow out with a light load, where as the labbed props hooked up better all around.
