I have seen several threads on this but my question is... is it worth it going to #6s? ... besides the cost.
I have a 90 gun that started off life as a TRS Hawk Supercharged boat and 2 years ago I converted it to a Bravo boat/H.P 500s
Now I have both motors out for upgrades ( going to Blown509s /750+) transom assemblies are out as well. .. I know the Bravos will be short lived.
found a deal on some wet sump #6s or go with boxes and XRs
so the gears are turning.

It's really simple....
TOP GUN + #6's hanging off the backside.......it's like being the guy with the chick with the hottest A$& on the dock.....
Just sayin'

THATS WHAT I'M TALKIN' ABOUT!!!! THAT CAME OUT GREAT!!! Especially in the blue color
JOE27BAJA - The reliability of wet sump 6's is well worth it if you can swing it - the HP loss for pushing them really isn't an issue for the dependability gained - plus you can add a $h*t ton of power to them and still sleep at night ....with your new 750hp's, you may just get good at rebuilding XR's = $$$. Go with the deal on the wet-sumps and you won't regret it.
Years ago I had a 38 Formula with 600hp's in it and "fresh" TRS's (that shouldn't have more than 500hp pushing them - ever IMO)...broke 3 "weak-side" starboard lowers in a month the last summer I had it. I swore I never wanted drive problems again in any boat I ever owned......PROBLEM SOLVED!!!
