Hell I get nervous with my speedmasters getting after it in big water, for my piece of mind I think the fear of bravos would kill the fun of using the boat

Bravo XR's or standard? where do you plan on boating, I have had good luck with XR drives but in rough water when that thing aerates it goes from 100% load factor to 0% and back to 100% in a instant!! a boat that size some shafts are going to take a twisting more than likely a failure. If the boat has standard bravos and he says he has had no issues I have a feeling he may be fibbin ya....

The boat has standard bravos on it. I normally boat here in Kentucky on the lakes and the river, but I will pull it to several poker runs..
Didn't Carter38 have a 94 with blower motors and standard bravos at one time?

If you buy it sell the Bravo's while they are together. Take the cash and buy Imco SCX's and don't turn back. I know you want the boat and are hoping that someone here will make you feel like it will be ok, but to be honest they will fail. You will spend the money one way or another, it's up to you. Not trying to be a d!ck just wanted to make it black and white.

That would amaze me if it is not a drive killer, the Procharger 42 Fountain when I was involved with that would just kill drives with 502's and M 4's I also had a customer with a 35 fountain 509 efi deals with M 1's and he was good for a bravo a weekend LH blow the top off and RH blow the floor out of the gear. I would factor in some drive expenses on that unit.

If you upgrade a bravo boat to IMCO SCX's and HP gimbles, you could easily spend 40K just in parts, I would try to find a boat that has the goods already installed, and you will find that those boats will command more $$, pay on the front end or the back, and your budget will dictate which one you end up with, good luck

Thanks for all the response guys I really appreciate it. Its a beautiful boat, not a scratch on it, but I don't want to have to deal with blowing drives all the time.

My café had upgraded bravo's behind carbed 540's. I was not hard on the drives and still went through them every other season to be sure they were good to go. When the boat got updated I did the math and settled on BMaxes. Bravos vs stronger drives ends up costing the same, I chose to pay up front for the peace of mind.
