Phil messed with the strakes from the factory in an attempt to airate the hull as the step craze was just starting to get rolling hard. This was right before the single step attempts which led to a twin step blocked mold which led to a whole new TS mold.

A piece of cigarette R&D hostory right there.

My guess is it reduced stern lift and made it porpoise more. lol

Wow, I guess you learn something every day... I never noticed that or remember reading about the notches in the strakes.. Crazy........ Good call Tank!

Thanks for the info tank. Never knew they ever attempted strake mods like that. To bad it didn't work out cause would have been a reasonable mod to do to a flat bottom gun if it added a bunch of performance.

Drive past it every other day or so if anyone needs info/eyes on it. Also have a friend that works for the seller.
