Why sound so mad/bitter about your old, heavy, big blower, big drive, straight bottom Cig that you have to run the battery switches on 1?... I was simply stating what I do in my Cig and what I've done in my 3 previous boats and 15yrs of boat ownership (regal, Baja,Donzi). You can continue to do it as you please, as will I. If and when I need batteries or alternators, I will chalk it up to those being bad. Not because I ran my batteries on both. BTW, i happen to like all Cigs, regardless of age, size or power and size of drives. They are beautiful boats, yours included. I've said enough. Cheers, have a nice day.

Thanks for posting ZP, I looked for this information a couple months ago from the switch Mfr. with no luck.

mine is REALLY old then, I have ON/OFF that's it, but I have a factory "jumper" relay switch if one died to get other engine going, I love that feature!

Yep, same instructions as my 02 Gun. Both switches on 1.

I don't wanna talk about batteries......

BUT, I did replace the on-board charger, so hopefully no more issues getting stranded after an overnight stay.

The wiring schematic from the manual ZP showed is good from 87-2000.

Is it just me , or is there a similarity here to the oft posed question .....
'I have a single engine boat that has 2 batteries , What is the correct position for the battery selector switch while running , '1' , '2' or 'all' ?

Because of so much confusing feedback I prefer to play it safe and run on only one battery at a time .

What did you replace it with? I'd love to replace the original charger on mine with something that has a regulator so I can leave it on and not risk over charging the batteries. I heard the original ones will over charge if left on. Correct me if I'm wrong.
