Then this happened.

Look at this on eBay:

1990 Cigarette Top Gun

Who's is it, what happened to power and the one missing transmission?

thisistank 09-30-2016 06:34 PM

The owner of that boat is on here. Things sweet.

Full Force 10-01-2016 07:27 AM

Love it, was looking hard at it until more engine issues surfaced for me, his name here is Kool Aid Man, did a FULL restoration, you can search it all here, that's a crazy good buy for the money... spent well over 100,000 not including engines....

frickstyle 10-01-2016 08:12 AM

It is a great deal for someone with power to install.

For anyone that has redone an old boat like this, and paid the "Cigarette" tax knows how much money can be saved by picking this one up.

mmb 10-03-2016 08:06 PM

Going to be another one for sale that's as reliable as a brand new boat sitting on an a myco for $75K after key west!!

We are ready to get into a newer boat! Probably a Cat, but plan to wait for the right boat to come along.

frickstyle 10-04-2016 08:47 AM

"We are never selling this thing, going to put 6s on it, blah blah blah"

Mark "darkside" mmb

J/K - good luck, hopefully someday I can make a move, or just hold onto this thing and get something else as whatever I own never seems to run anyway. I could use a backup.

mmb 10-04-2016 08:51 AM

we are moving WAY up in price range instead of dropping another 100K into the cig.

frickstyle 10-04-2016 09:34 AM

^^^Makes sense. I couldn't believe you were going to install more/new hardware in that thing. I keep telling myself Arnesons, however, I would probably use that money towards something else before doing that.

Good luck, leaning towards any particular brands? We do not have many cats up here, so I can't really help. 46ft Skater????

sommerfliesby 10-04-2016 10:16 AM

The power went into a 47 Outerlimits that the owner bought and flipped. Not sure what happened to the other tranny. I'd say the price is pretty reasonable considering the Konrads probably have less than 30 hours on them...

I've known the boat since Kool-Aid Brian bought it 10 or so years ago, and have spent a bit of time in that bilge, lol.

leaning towards a newer 368 or 388 Skater with modern efi engines in it. But I can't say we would pass up an Outerlimits SV43 if one came along!!

frickstyle 10-04-2016 11:50 AM

Ah yes, two on my top 5 list, wise choices.

caseyh 10-04-2016 12:29 PM

wish korads were in my current budget. I like the trans in boats.

315duramax 10-05-2016 07:09 PM

its a good buy until you see all the cracking in the side… thats not lack of flex agent in clear? (what ever that is) its the boat flexing… usually stringer broke where its cracking and Top guns crack there when stringers crack or are soft… but cool boat the drives are nice!!!

ICDEDPPL 10-05-2016 07:29 PM

I think you might be off on that one, I heard the story and it`s the paint.

Full Force 10-05-2016 09:22 PM

you never used flex agent?

kvogt 10-06-2016 07:36 AM

You don't need flex agent on a boat.

Full Force 10-06-2016 07:40 AM

Correct, was surprised Phil didn't know what it was lol

Speculating there are structural issues with a boat he has never seen. Bunch of bull****.

Full Force 10-06-2016 06:49 PM

Ohhh the eBay boat, I don't know very many boats that don't have some spider cracking somewhere, all depends... Boats flex that's a fact, if they didn't they would split in half, it's not uncommon to see that on a perfectly good boat... If I didn't find all this bs inside my engines I was gonna grab that boat last week, super bummed about it

The more some post, create post, their ignorance is clear, and they have no clue what their talking about.

Full Force 10-06-2016 07:18 PM

Are you saying that about me?

I have posted a zillion times MK did not spec my cams. My Chief engines came with flat tappet cams and Chief gave me the specs for the new cams because we wanted to switch to hyd roller. MK called cam motion and had them make the cams to our specs. 243/660 252/645 is my specs Might as well be a Crane 651, you guys love that cam.

and yes I will make a classified add. We haven't made one yet because it is not for sale until AFTER Key West, you know what you actually do with a boat, use it.

If you think I have spent 6 figures into this boat to build it wrong you are mistaken. We love this boat and planed to keep it forever but the wife has fallen in love with Cats on the Jax run and, well, I have always wanted one so we are selling the boat.

Drop your conspiracy theory and go fix your own boat.

Full Force 10-06-2016 08:16 PM

DUDE, wtf? where did I say MK spec'd your cams? I have not said ANYTHING to you since my engine thread.... so get off your high horse and harass someone else, not one time in MONTHS have I said a word about you or your boat...!!!

Full Force 10-06-2016 08:23 PM

You have really nice engine in your ride, you should be proud!! Little tweak hear and there and they will be what you want.

Full Force 10-06-2016 09:01 PM

Getting tweaked this winter, headwork AGAIN, new cams, rockers, pushrods and whatever else to make right.

F*** I hope this hurricane does not double back and screw Key West up to bad for the races...... Anyone who knows Tommy's work knows you have the right set up in your engines someone is just trying to get a rise out of you and it worked.
Now that Tommy is "partnered" with Precision those engines are going to be like collector items making your boat worth big $$ with that being said that makes mine boat worth more $ also, will someone please buy it, it is in the classifieds.
I bought my 28SS back which I will never sell again by the way, going to run that for a year or two until I find the right 39 to redo front to back, this hurricane may put that in my lap faster then I anticipated....

ROB FREEMAN 10-07-2016 07:55 AM

Even if cam were whatever. I don't see that for a reason to not sell. I myself think that boat n engines seem like a good buy quite frankly at 75 k on a trailer complete. But I don't want to post so others can say how ignorant people are. As for one , there's not one member on here that isn't ignorant about something. This site starting to sound like a bunch of women n gossip. Not even winter yet. Sounds like it's going to be a long one. I myself am very ignorant and not one bit ashamed of it. Not act like I'm not. Just saying
