Twin step T/G Speeds
 

Working on power AGAIN this winter. Just wondering what speeds your seeing with 38 t/s Top Gun, drives and power.

Had bravos 525 (with flash done previous owner) XR drives 87mph
525 back in last year with Arnesons kit 89, not propped right. Bump rev limiters 3/4 throttle.
2017 working on power and a new set of props, ??? Mph

I got 89 out of mine. Little less than 1/2 tank of fuel and one passenger. 525/xr

buddies got a 04 that has the same set up and has hit 89. Wonder how much hp is needed to break 100mph?

731 hp will do 100 at sea level

05 twin step , 38 gun , 731 hp ,xr on ITS and a 6in box 1.36 gear with a 30p 4 blade 101mph
06 twin step ,39 unlimited , 600sci ,ITS,150gear with 32p 4 blades 96mph
05-06 unlimited ,525efi ITS, 86mph
04 stepped ,525, ITS 150 gear 86mph
01 TS no box no ITS ,540 , 86mph

Schweeng- What hatch? Are you saying the intercoolers and the stock blower?
Its time I think to replace my blowers. :)

2002 575 sci with whipple intercoolers, stock 32 pitch bravo 91-92 on the limiter

My air cleaners were cut down 1/4 inch to clear hatch for intercoolers with stock weiand blowers. My TBS replacement blowers are not as tall.

'03,525's, Bravo XR's w/shorties and ITS. Labbed 32's. 86mph.

Sounds like I need to start tossing out seat cushions to lighten my load & catch up to you!

Ratio. Labbed 4 blade Merc. 30's. 84 MPH. 5150-5200 RPM.

You wouldn't be the first. Someone tacked on step(s) to the bottom of an Apache back in the day. :D There were stories about it here on OSO in the days of way back.





How fast were the 525/XR F2 TS/TGs? They'd eek over 90 in perfect conditions right?

I've read 87+ with the spec 500's in the F2 class

Duh, that's right, they never came with 525s.
The LipShip boat had them swapped in.

What do you have for power in Speedy now?

Ran 93mph with 525EFI - Bravo XR's w/Sport Master Lowers w/2" Shorties on 12" Stelling Extension Boxes.

Not sure how everyone is getting there numbers? My 2007 38 Top Gun with 525's, XR sport master drives, spinning new Bravo 1 30p props and 1/4 tank of gas is only running 82 on GPS?

I was spinning 32 bravo's. My revlimiters would go off at 5600 not the 5400 of a stock 525. So we assumed it was reprogrammed. Uppers were redone.

Goning to get power figured out and then dial in with props. If the boat doesn't like the drives then next winter will be #6 drives.

I was really surprised mine ran that high! My friends 08 runs 84mph with my exact setup. Conditions, weight, operator technique all play a factor I'm sure!

Conditions had to be right weather wise. Hot and humid the boat would see 84-85, cooler air and right chop saw my best numbers.

If you are referring to tom with the blue 2008 TG he has imco scx's not xrs which rob power. Likely the reason he is not in the upper 80's.

I wasn't referring to him but now that you said that I believe my friends has the same set up as Tom��
