Is that an old race boat? What power and drives . What kind of speed?

Any idea what it weighed compared to a mid 90s Top Gun?

Guess the teak isn't going back in the cabin.

Yes shore power only. No gen set. As we get further in the project we are going to try to get rid of anything that is not necessary.

Was just wondering, was going to recommend a tall pan if you where using it while underway. The regular pans do not hold water and it spills over when you turn.

653 CI All aluminum Donovan blocks, 750hp, 850 ft lbs, 3A's with 12 disc hubers, boat ran in the low 80s all the time, supposedly saw 87 with some big wheels on it, I have not run it that hard or long to know. When I ran it GPS did not work but phone was high 70's with plenty left. Guessing the weight around 9500K lbs. We didn't get a chance to weigh it but we will when its done.

Teak is not going back in the cabin. We will be putting in some new teak/mahogany as accents but not a full teak headliner or cabinet.

Thanks. I'll take all the advise I can get. I have learned a lot over the years reading the build threads and seeing how creative people can be.

I plan to keep this for a long time so we are going to do it right and the way we want it. Fully aware the $$$ we put in is gone and not coming back.

Mostly on the Western end of Lake Erie. I want to do the Buffalo and Boyne Thunder Poker runs some day though.

Once I we have the boat dialed in we will do some small trips with it each year.

Anymore pics of it? I see where you looked at that 36 on ebay but never saw a thread where you said you bought this one.

I was riding around northern Italy 6 years ago with my ex who was from the region . Came up over the hill and there was a old 36 race boat sitting by the side of the road in the dirt.

Crazy

Always loved the 36s. Bam was one of my favorites until I saw that silver one with the stripes that was recently restored.

My mistress is about 11,700 with half tank of fuel (100 gallons) and gear, so your up there in weight for sure.... I think greg told me low 80's I don't see 87 with 750 hp without staggards, but maybe... dude let's face it nobody can run over 80 in the same water as that boat anyway... I been on Snyder's rightbat 80 in 3-5's and thatbwas one fun and probably the best ride I ever had.... the 36 is an amazing machine in bigger water...

Here are a few. I kept the purchase pretty quiet but when I started the cabin project I figured I could get some insight from everybody on here.
