I've only seen some of the posts with your adventure, but glad everything worked out for you in the end. Congrats man.

jeff32 10-18-2017 05:45 AM

So the cat is now out of the bag! Congrats on your new gun! Should be a lot of fun!
what is your expected speed with your 540 in ?

phragle 10-18-2017 06:02 AM

wooohoooo !!!!

BBYSTWY 10-18-2017 06:47 AM

jealous...one of those will be my next boat congrats!!

frickstyle 10-18-2017 07:18 AM

Cool, saw Ronnie's videos on IG, how's she handle the rough stuff compared to the Mistress? (Looked a little bow happy, only complaint I have. Although I seem to have a better handle on how they like to run now, they are certainly a "drivers" boat).

cigrocket 10-18-2017 08:37 AM

Good Luck! Harvey's old boat. It originally came from my Neck of the woods in Upstate NY. I sold Harvey a Transmission and a Replacement TRS drive before he did the TRS conversion to Konrads. He did the conversion shortly after I did mine on the Old Mistress. If those were Harvey's original 555CI motors, they were nice pieces and ran great with Top Dollar Parts. Just for my Info, why are you removing that power?

Knot 4 Me 10-18-2017 09:05 AM

Congrats! Hopefully this boat/build stays drama free.

abones 10-18-2017 09:41 AM

Congrats Tim, looks nice! enjoy!

thisistank 10-18-2017 09:48 AM

Congrats! I remember when that boat was painted (there's pics floating around OSO somewhere). You're gonna love that cabin! I've always said, best cabin in a performance boat in its class.

yes for sure different I can't even compare the 2, totally different animals, lake was good 3-5's or so yesterday fordtn5 minutes I owned boat we went out in it after I said "we will stay in beeakwall today while I learn boat" ya ok.... doing 45 or so it was bouncy haha ten the second trip hour later I ran 60-65 and it was great! Mistress busts through the waves this one rides on top and will cone out of the water, those 380 planes are amazing ice I started to see what it liked...

I would love to see what it used to be, I know it came from New York, there's people that say it went under at a dock years ago, no proof yet nor do I really care, boat is great and will be better as I fix things up it needs!

my engines make some more power, and built by me and after all the bs and $ I'm keeping them lol

I thought about keeping his and adding boost, Frickstyle and I decided that's a bad idea the konrads won't take what I would do then.. there are great parts in these engines but mine do also.

I absolutely love the cabin it's so huge compared to the mistress

frickstyle 10-18-2017 10:13 AM

Yeah, by drivers boat I mean that it takes a lot of input to make it happy, and I have to throttle with my setup to keep it from kiting if you want to run with the tabs loosened up. I remember riding on your Mistress, quite different. This hull runs best over 70mph, water permitting, anything under that takes a lot of adjustment and porpoise. How did those engines run? 72 you said? Wonder what the diff will be with your engines, how much HP diff? Those are bigger cubes, right? Cam change on current (j/k) How much did the Mistress weigh? What pitch props on the Konrads and what rpm did it pull to top end? Just curious as I was working on that drive setup before I changed everything.

I was going to run 850-900hp thru them w/572s & a 420 MegeBlower. You could add centrifugal and go up to 850-875? Konrads might run a little faster than SSM? Less frictional losses/weight?

for sure was better at 65 all day long... mistress is 12,800 on a Myco steel trailer no fuel, Myco says trailer is 2000 so who knows I would say mistress is 10,500 no fuel with gear on it.

This ran 72@4900 yesterday with 28 Bravo1 Harvey said best speed was 26 bravo1 75.8@5200 ever but propped to cruise it around

frickstyle 10-18-2017 10:35 AM

Yeah, was going to say you're in between a 26 & 28. Pretty good speeds for not running a higher RPM, if you could get to to 5500 RPM..... 80? .

Full Force 10-18-2017 11:01 AM

I would think dialed in I will see 77-78... maybe 80 on the right day

I remember the boat, and it did sink at one point in 2005/2006. The boat was acquired by Mike Fenton, a close friend of Dick Congel of RC congel (used to be a huge dealer here) Mike used to buy repo and insurance boats to flip. I watched that boat dry indoors with fans and drip methods for months the summer of 2006 at Congels. The sunken power was scrapped and it was converted to 502 mpis mated to the stock trs drives. It was cleaned and ready to go and was sold by Chris Martin from the Boat House in Constantia NY in the spring of 2007.

That was before it was painted correct?

Just being a smartass.

Baronmarine on here cut the cabin all out of his Topgun and glassed in some frames. Bow sits about 10 inches higher at rest now and the boat doesn't rattle like it was starting to do after a few years of him beating his Gun like it owed him money.

Saw 96 this summer in it with 900s and #3As but it is propped for rough water acceleration and not topspeed, He doesn't like to go out unless it is 3-4s minimum.

no, I saw it drying with that paint. However I don't know if Mike was the one that had it painted maybe before it was completely dry.

I remember the guys in the service department saying they were trying to avoid drilling relief holes in the boat and that's why it was drying inside. Had fans in the cabin but when I saw it the boat was completely assembled

Thx, I knew someone would actually know the story, I bought it knowing the past and price was very right for mew to do so, I had a nice conversation with GlassDave before purchase, so he made me feel ok, I spent 2.5 hours going over the boat, found some things but nothing to keep me from buying it, especially with the engines and drives that it has, if I should find something I am not ok with the boat can either be taken to Dave (local) or I part it and find another, had it out on lake yesterday in some 3-5's did just fine, besides damn cabin door rattling I was told to get used to that in any Gun..

A quick peek at cabin you can tell, I will have that redone later anyway if it's a keeper, passed a survey in 09 and recent showed 15% in a couple spots this May, Dave said don't sweat it, I did my own survey... I looked in places a surveyor does not, I am into a nice boat cheap, I can afford to make it nicer over the next few years if I chose, with a nice cleaning it shows very well.
