Yes I’m defiantly something simple I’m going to put 2 couches back in and a small bed up front light weight and simple. I really didn’t plan on rewiring entire boat but it kind of just snowballed into that after I started cutting cabin wiring out ended up just cutting all of it out. I do think it will be easier to start from scratch instead of trying to patch up old stuff |
dear lord.
That's all I have to say about that! |
How does your boat run? Flat or ass-end heavy? I know mine runs very heavy in the rear, bow high, but I do have a different setup and yours may not run like mine does. It requires tab or a heavy throttle hand to run it right and fly level. With your deeper drives, this may not be the case.
Just something to consider if you are removing all that weight from the nose. Has anyone added a water/ballast tank to the front of a Gun? |
Lol could be worse....... |
Mine gets on plane and run flat with drives in neutral position I am taking weight out of the front. But I am also putting bulk heads and things back in. Moving fuel tanks up 30 inches. It should balance out. Also talking about moving to a semi stagger and moving port Moter up 12 inches. Boat will a new learning curve to run but it seemed to really like 5 blade 30s before and ran very well and level. |
I do plan on putting to facing bench seats and one bed in so there will be weight there but I just wanted to get ride of the liner. After cutting it all out I see why they move so much. Not much holding them in I am putting one large bulk head directly behind dash that ties both sides together. That will keep that area tight looking to do something like this |

https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...46a559808.jpeg Well it’s officially a bare hull all cabin and every wire from the boat is out time to start grinding and putting bulkheads back in down there https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...1f9a917cf.jpeg |
Did you weigh all the stuff you took out of the cabin.
On my flat deck I picked up a solid 8 mph by removing the cabin liner and putting in a light weight stick built cabin with extra bulkheads. |
I did it was right at 1000 pounds with everything I took out I’m going to do a very light layup upfront I’m going to add some for bulkhead ceiling to stringers just Stiffen a few things up and 2 facing benches Going for a pretty straightforward simple cabin we don’t sleep on it much I don’t know if I will pick up 8 mph but I would be happy with 4 or 5 lol |
