Ok explain something to me. How does the solenoid works on the bulkhead. So the battery positive cables go from the battery to the solenoid then from there to the battery switch’s. Is is some sort of
parallel solenoid to allow the motors to use both batteries to start and then go down to one? If so what activates it ? Starting to get things ready to go back in the boat. Replacing every word in the boat all new 0 gauge battery cables all new breakers everything it’s all going to be new so I want to do it all to the updates ways I should say lol any thoughts ?

The parallel solenoid does joint the 2 Bats if one is low, and its activated usually by a push button switch at the helm.
With this image, replace the house Bat with Eng 2

The solenoid is actuated by either start push button on the helm, it parallels the batteries for more amps to turn over all those cubic inches!

That’s kinda what I was wondering if it was activated when you hit the starter button. So if you didn’t have that and had the battery switches on all for starting wouldn’t that be the same ?

That would be the same if it worked as Diesel mentioned. All the ones I have seen have a separate momentary switch that is used only when combining Bats is needed. My Formula has a separate switch

My '91 Cafe Racer had the Parallel switch on the helm, next to the port/stbd starter switches, just to combine when/if needed.

It`s easier to hit a switch at the helm then to keep switching the battery switches as mentioned.

Parrallel switch is lit up, I use it to start the engines and then turn it off, battery switch is just simple on/off

Ok for all you folks that have been following this build the start and those who are new to the thread let’s here your opinion good or bad lol on the final paint. I personally love it. The white is a ice white pearl and the black is a pearl as well. The boat name is the WHITE PEARL. Kinda like the black pearl from the Caribbean movies. This topgun has a few legends of its own to tell.
