Ran with my buddy Justin today and yesterday. He had both is 37 Hustler Talon with 675 KE & 6’s and his 42 Fountain with 1100 Cobras & #6’s. Both beasts and he runs them on the wall. My daughter drove the talon back from pirates yesterday. She loved it.
then today we ran down to 3-dunes and he ran the fountain. gettin after it. Lotta fun. |

the time I ran it up to 95 and the props were spinning in it felt sketchy loose and I hadn’t even trimmed it properly. just way way way over all better spinning out. So happy I did it. Spinning out is the only way to go . I spun in for a day.. F that... suked balls, drove like a school bus, I changed it the same day to spin back out

It got a lot of love this weekend. Lot of people talking to us about it at the dock party. Helicopter flew with us for a while again. Took Ked from Zip Zap and Eric from Fast & Loud Photography (great guys) out Saturday for a run. Looking forward to seeing those videos. I've never been to Havasu but it's on my list to check out. How is it on a non-event weekend? Is there much to do? How does it compare to LOTO?...looks like a fairly desolate shoreline compared to LOTO.

We LOVE LOTO and Havasu equally, but they are two totally different styles of boating. LOTO you jump in your boat and all the different bars and pools are your destination as you hop around all day. Stop here, jump in the pool, grab a drink. Then back on the boat to the next spot, rinse repeat. Havasu, there are only 4 spots really you can stop and eat / drink and only one has a pool that you can chill in (Topock 66). NONE of them are on the main body of the lake to watch boats haul azz by either, so once you get to a place, you go inside or sit out at the bar and feel almost isolated from what's going on out on the water. but that's changing with the new bar / restaurant opening on Memorial at Havasu Palms and construction about to begin on a restaurant at the Riviera Marina. Though, neither of them has plans for a pool I hear the restaurant at Riviera is considering it. Havasu, you're in your boat all day basically. Beaching and rafting up to swim is the thing to do. Whether it's down at the south end of the lake at 3-dunes or upriver at pirates, you stay on your boat a lot in Havasu. Lots of people like to beach in the channels too (main channel and Pirates channel) and watch the ENDLESS boats and people pass by while standing in the water. The water is a lot better in Havasu that is one thing, it's clear and blue and calmer, since there's shoreline it doesn't get the washing machine cross rollers, plus there's no cabin cruisers throwing 3' wakes. so, everyone is stopping and jumping in the lake to swim. There are no waterfront homes with docks at all until you get way up Needles where there's homes on the water with docks. The shoreline of the lake and most of the river is protected and you can't build homes unlike LOTO. Havasu is also more concentrated to the city itself when you're on land. LOTO is all the fingers and things are spread out if you have to drive somewhere. Everything is super close in the city proper of Havasu. And they have events nearly every weekend all year long. Hot rod shows, boat shows, jet ski races, poker runs, concerts, international ballon festival, international fireworks festival, bike runs, on and on and on. There's ALWAYS something going on. The housing is different too. Since there's no lake front homes, most houses built over the past 15 years are geared towards toys, huge double triple and even quad RV garages for hot rods and powerboats. *****en pools etc. And as far as what it's like on a "regular weekend", now-adays it seems there's always killer stuff out on the water even on off weekends and big weekends are stimulus overload. I actually like the regular weekends much better. Enough eye candy but not so much it's a sh*t show and over crowded. I think most people that visit enjoy it. Some people comment its a small lake, but the run from the Needles bridge to Havasu springs is roughly 50 miles one way. There's plenty of lake to stretch out and run. |

Whelp, boats tucked away were back home and it’s back to work tomorrow. Had a good weekend. But I remember why I stopped going to the Desert Storm poker run 4 years ago. Wasn’t going to go this year but kids had spring break and were begging to go so, off we went.
why did I stop going? It’s a total sh*t show. Crowded EVERYWHERE the lake is packed all weekend and I couldn’t even get into the channel yesterday it was grid lock. Not really my scene anymore. The street party is maybe the only draw and it’s also just a mess of people. Reminds me of walking a Friday night at the county fair, super packed. Still good to see lots of People. We ran up to pirates up river Friday and hung out up there for a while. Saturday we went with some friends and found a quiet cove and just chilled all day. Saturday night the wind was blowing, nightmares trying to get the boat in the slip, so we ended up docking sideways and walking it in. After we tied up dude in a new DCB M37 having same issue so I told him to do the same and we walked him in then we’re sitting in the cabin of our boat having a cocktail and BAM! boat gets hit. Run up, dude in the dock next to us was coming in in one motor and the wind pushing him all over his bow but my bow. I jump out and first help him get his 38 Baja onto the slip then go look for damage. Guy was super cool told me he’ll give me all him info and pay for damages but I’m looking at it and I can’t see anything so I just told him all good, you got enough problems getting a motor fixed. Lol. Didn’t take very many pics but did get a lot of coverage of us which was cool. Ran with the helicopter last night and pretty sure zip zap filmed us Friday after noon. Anyway. Only pics I got from yesterday. Handful of cigs there including biggus’ old gun, couple 42X’s couple Tigers (both listed for sale now I believe) the virgin F2 boat and hit for teacher.
