The surge button added 15* of timing but pretty much anything could make the roots surge.
I`ll see how different the whipple is.

Yea when you added 15* it idles up and then the iac pids react and then the timing oscillation starts to compensate and then it starts it’s roll.

Thumbs up

Hard to beat the look of the old school blowers, but I think with all the cool updates you did to this Flat Deck, the Whipples fit right in. They look great. Have you hit 100 MPH yet? Gotta be damn close.

94 was my best but more like 89 in the summer heat and 92 everyday with cooler weather loaded with gear and fuel.

I really enjoy ordering parts and putting things together , I hate that starting and testing part that`s where all the frustrating stuff comes in.
maybe I`ll just look at it all summer instead

got the throttles figured out (opposite side than carbs and push/pull not pull/push) and my fuel system is done .

gonna need to put the flame arrestor on them 3000cfm throttle bodies, they look like they could swallow small animals.

so not hoping to sound stupid but i havnt had but one set of MILD blower engines. But i have some ignorant N/A 540s and we need timing to strengthen the idle in gear quality.this is not at all questioning anything. why does the advance of timing at idle make it surge? is it manifold vacuum? btw id love to have that switch!

Let’s say idle rpm target is 700. when you add timing it will add power which will raise rpm. So now rpm is raised to say it goes to 850 so now the ecu tries to get the rpm back down to 700 so it pulls the timing back out and the rpm drops down then it will undershoot and go low so it will add it back and it will start a ossilation and rpm roll. Tie that to the iac doing the same thing and a little on the lean side of fuel and it will roll.

Exactly like B18cls said .

You can watch the timing in yellow and next to it is the Iac count .:

It looks great. If you need any parts made up or machined I would be happy to help you out if I can. Let me know I appreciated your help when I needed a couple of switches.
