Actually 3/4" above the bottom when cross referenced propshaft and centerline.
So the final resting place will be 1.5" above that making the drive 2.25" above bottom.
That`s the best part about a soggy transom, you can drill holes and mock things up and if it`s off that`s all good, it`s getting replaced anyway .
I talked to Dan once he does know his stuff that`s for sure!
Side note, I was using a level on the bottom in the past trying to figure out X dimension and I was wrong all these years . The laser is so easy to use and accurate.

Thanks for the tip...I have all sorts of layout lasers...but never thought to use them for drive placement layout.
