I hear what you're saying, but I think we are just at the beginning of the market correction and it hasn't set in yet for sellers. If you look at the majority of Cigs on yacht world, they have been having reductions in price. I do think $50 is low, but people are looking for bargains right now (myself included). I would lower the price a little before you winterize it just to see if you get anymore action. You may or may not. You can always try again next Spring.

I see the same thing happening soon as it did in 2008. Sellers will be upside down in their boats (whether they have a loan or not), cash buyers want a bargain, nothing gets bought and sold. Just my opinion....

i agree with your assessment. No loan here I own it outright. That being said I have more than $50k in parts. Even in a down market fair value is 65-70k. That’s what they were going for pre-pandemic.

The parts alone worth $50K and it's a well cared for boat. I like a deal too, but I don't like surprises so I usually assume the worst when I see a deal. I just don't subscribe to the idea that you can even get a "deal", rather I think the seller just knows more about what the boat needs and has already adjusted the price accordingly whether or not you figure out and determine the cost of fixing everything that's wrong.

I recently bought this 28 saber with no power and have about a $75K budget for that boat to get it in about the shape of this cigarette and it's a 1989. It's like a mini top gun. Here's an old old pic previous owner sent me, hasn't changed, I even offered $75K for another 28 Saber that was turn key 90mph boat got rejected, guy said he had over $100K into it and wanted most of it back!!!

My personal opinion on what I have seen actually sell and what's been listed over the last 5 to 8 years, boats are starting to come down pretty hard with interest rates rising and most cash buyers are not buying these boats, your boat is beautiful in great shape I think a listing number should be around 70 or 75,000 and a realistic selling number will be between 60 and 70,000 within the next year after that it's going to be less, honestly if you love the boat and don't want to sell for that kind of money I would probably hang onto it or keep it listed high and you might get lucky for someone that just has to have it, I don't mind the paint job personally but there's a lot of people that aren't going to want that either so that isn't going to help. Before of the government virus these boats were floating between 55 and $70,000 give or take equipment, Personally I think three years from now they're going to be less
