Top Gun Price
Opinions on listing price for 1994 top gun
500 EFI’s with Bravo XR’s motors have 510 hours. Top ends done at 390 hours. Bravo xr’s recently re-built stage 2 thru AADS. New stainless marine exhaust 3-4 years ago. New transom assemblies with JR marine steering pins. Sitting on real extreme aluminum trailer. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...64af54f38.jpeg |
Prices are crazy. For reference, I sold our 95 top gun with 525SC’s and 3A’s that was in decent shape with upgrades on a trailer for 75k in 2013. Now, 10 years older and people are asking double. LOL.
seems like it’s name your price time. Prices are crazy. With that said. Nice gun! 😁👍 |
any other opinions…

Whats the overall condition of the boat, interior, cuddy gel coat ect, options does it have AC gen set ?...there all over the place as for pricing, Id cruise some of the for sale sites and determine where to start.

I would start at 90 and see what kind of action you get,
|
I’ll give you my opinion but I guess it matters if you are putting it up for sale to sell or putting it up for sale to see how much you can get.
A guy I know bought a 1998 with 500EFI (120 hours on rebuilds), SM manifolds, XR’s, updated Livorsi gauges, newer upholstery, on a steel trailer with nice looking paint for $90k about two months ago. if you want to sell, I’d ask $84,900 with a little room for negotiation. With 500hrs those are going to be need to be rebuilt soon in the eyes of a buyer. We are going into fall/winter, and the economy doesn’t look to be getting better. People will want a deal. Price it reasonable and sell it, if you want to. If you want to sit on it for sale, then price it like the rest of them. There are a 3-4 straight bottoms on boat trader in the $90-99k range that aren’t selling. Now, where’s the 38/39 I want that’s a good deal too? 😁 |
Thinking maybe 87,900….
|
$75,000 IMO.......so maybe list it at $85k.
Agree I would price it as if motors needed rebuild. I believe prices have deflated back to pre-COVID levels, at least for these old boats where financing is difficult. I think as boats are aging the pool of interested buyers will be less and less because you can't finance it and young guy's just aren't wrenching on boats like they use to. Iphone killing off the renaissance men. Guy's that can pay $75K cash also looking at boats in 150-200K range that can be financed. |
|
I think for the masses your boat is more desirable because most dont want to mess with blowers
|
should be listing it within the next week…thanks guys
|
It’s listed for anyone looking. Tried to split the difference on asking price. I think it’s fair.

I know the boat it’s clean and well maintained I think you guys are spot on with the pricing and it’s a good value to a new buyer. Turn key wave crusher.
|
Have to agree with what Frank said. Glws.
|
thanks guys…a lot of blood sweet and tears went into this thing. We spared little expense on maintenance and up-keep.
|
I have a question. Is the hat and paper towels included in the sale? Asking for a friend...

don’t disagree with your numbers…but all the free money has dried up. Who is going to pull a home equity at 6.5% or stroll up to a credit union giving 8-10%. Financing simply isn’t attractive right now.
Unless big power OL's that some may be able to afford to buy but not maintain. |
will toss in free winterization and indoor heated storage…🥸
|
That is an amazing clean boat.
|
last call…it’s getting winterized in 2-3 weeks.
otherwise I’ll try to sell in the spring. |

Agree financing could be difficult. If it was what I was looking for I would not hesitate to pay $75K cash for that boat and that is coming from someone who has the ability and well informed after shopping for over a year or so not to mention most of my adult life just love browsing the classifieds. The boat certainly stands out in the classifieds in that price range (in a good way). Inflation just so tough right now for everyone I think and stock market not doing good so people don't want to sell off any stocks to pay for it. |

I see the same thing happening soon as it did in 2008. Sellers will be upside down in their boats (whether they have a loan or not), cash buyers want a bargain, nothing gets bought and sold. Just my opinion.... |

I hear what you're saying, but I think we are just at the beginning of the market correction and it hasn't set in yet for sellers. If you look at the majority of Cigs on yacht world, they have been having reductions in price. I do think $50 is low, but people are looking for bargains right now (myself included). I would lower the price a little before you winterize it just to see if you get anymore action. You may or may not. You can always try again next Spring.

I think Ian is going to help the market stay inflated for another little while as there is going to be a gang of buyers with insurance checks in SW FL now…

The parts alone worth $50K and it's a well cared for boat. I like a deal too, but I don't like surprises so I usually assume the worst when I see a deal. I just don't subscribe to the idea that you can even get a "deal", rather I think the seller just knows more about what the boat needs and has already adjusted the price accordingly whether or not you figure out and determine the cost of fixing everything that's wrong.
I recently bought this 28 saber with no power and have about a $75K budget for that boat to get it in about the shape of this cigarette and it's a 1989. It's like a mini top gun. Here's an old old pic previous owner sent me, hasn't changed, I even offered $75K for another 28 Saber that was turn key 90mph boat got rejected, guy said he had over $100K into it and wanted most of it back!!! https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...73fdc81056.jpg |
Here are more pics…swim platform powder coated last year, engines rebuilt 4 years ago, transom assemblies new 4 years ago.

Winter Sale
price reduced - $79,900 |
My personal opinion on what I have seen actually sell and what's been listed over the last 5 to 8 years, boats are starting to come down pretty hard with interest rates rising and most cash buyers are not buying these boats, your boat is beautiful in great shape I think a listing number should be around 70 or 75,000 and a realistic selling number will be between 60 and 70,000 within the next year after that it's going to be less, honestly if you love the boat and don't want to sell for that kind of money I would probably hang onto it or keep it listed high and you might get lucky for someone that just has to have it, I don't mind the paint job personally but there's a lot of people that aren't going to want that either so that isn't going to help. Before of the government virus these boats were floating between 55 and $70,000 give or take equipment, Personally I think three years from now they're going to be less
