Hi Scotty , when I replace that pad for the bilge pumps I used composite , that way you don't have to worry about water rotting the wood through the screw holes . I used Star board for those types of pads and Marine plywood for the transom and stringers . Keep up the good work . Cheers RG .

I am using Penske board everywhere. I have been out of town this week, but will get back on it. Plexus, Penske board and 3 different fiberglass materials and a lot of labor

Nice !!!! So on the bilge pump pad we have not been putting that board back in. Junk /bolts/ you name it gets stuck under there take 2 pieces of 3/16 stainless Bend 90 degrees in the mount then them to center stringer works great pump sits on top nicely. Can’t wait till see the progress!!!!

nice progress!!!

i would have thought you simply needed to use a layer of chopstrand mat and resin instead of plexus...
so i guess i am wrong?

I really don’t know if there is a “right or wrong “ lol. Everyone seems to have different ideas. I know the plexus bonds and holds very well and by troweling it on I can insure 100% coverage with no air pockets! It’s costly, but it’s my personal boat and I want to do it the best way I know of. I will also plexus the stringers in then glass everything together so it looks good .
