42 This and That and 46 This and That!

Just fruit for thought ...

You are exactly right, there are too many names. One name, one length, add model numbers after that.
It's like the 35, how many names had that had? Mistress, Cafe, Playboy, Mistress again?

I stand corrected. There was the 35 Top Gun which was built around the special edition Playboy boat (how could I forget) plus the Mistress, etc.
Maybe I am wrong and maybe there is a well-thought out process in play here ... maybe a method to their madness!

I think there was a 35 Top Gun a few years back.

Bottom line is ... there is definately room for confusion. Do they even make the 20' Son of a Gun model anymore? Is this Cigarette's complete current model lineup?
20' Son of a Gun
30' Mystique
35' Top Gun
36' Gladiator
38' Top Gun
42' Tiger
42' XP
42' Stealth
42' Rum Runner
45' Maximus
46' Rough Rider
Am I missing anything from the new models? The other question is ... why did they rename some of the models? The Bullet was always a good name. No one else uses the Bullet and everyone knew it was a 31 Cigarette. Instead of making the 30' Mystique they could have made a new 31' Bullet and called it the 31' Bullet S or something. Same for the 35 Mistress which then became the Cafe and then became the 35 Top Gun. That was kind of nutty to name the 35' boat after their flagship model 38 Top Gun.
I agree with Rum Runner also ... not the coolest name. I thought the Gladiator was a great name personally!
Maximus is also approriate since that will essentially be a BIG Gladiator.
I'm sure Neill from Cigarette is probably making faces at me right now for stirring things up a little. All in good fun Neill. I am - and will always be - a Cigarette fan no matter what you name the boat. Just don't name one an Apple Martini!
