Sweet pics Lucky! I love the old classics. That trailer in post #2 looks like it would be as heavy as the 28 sitting on it. :D

1974 - 28' SS
1981 - 27'
1994 - 38' Top Gun

lucky strike 12-22-2003 11:43 AM

Which one was your favorite?
Why?

O.C.Barry 12-22-2003 12:04 PM

The 38'.

The 28' was fun, like dating the head cheerleader.

The 27' was sleek like dating a model.

The 38' is like dating Heather Locklear; prettier, faster, and bigger guns!

dhlaw 12-22-2003 12:16 PM

Here is the dilemma..... When I want to go fast but be comfortable when I stop the Gun is the way to go. It runs a solid 82, the cabin is nice and roomy, and the boat is comfortable.

When I want to pound through some big water the Gladiator is better because I dont have to worry about the cabin getting all messed up with stuff flying around. Also the Gladiator is all business. Maybe I will put soem 525's in her fro racing and whipple the 500's for poker running

TIGER-1 12-22-2003 12:59 PM

Great Thread,I thought we are supposed to put what we actually owned, not what we thought we owned.

CBlakeNS 12-22-2003 01:11 PM

Nice boats guys, I like seeing the history of where manufacturers have come from boats back in the day to the boat designs now, what a big difference.

75 28SS built it from a bare hull
87 Cafe Racer

I'm torn, but I guess the SS was my favorite. engines were brand new, turn key and never broke down...

Cafe is great because it's a better wave crusher, but our engine woes kept us from the water fro the better part of two seasons. we think that's all behind us now.

stecz20 12-23-2003 11:45 AM

89 cafe racer
looking for a gun or a tiger next, ill never get rid of the cafe racer. baby rides like a 78 caddy...merry christmas to you guys, and happy new year.
