Don't know where the 100 MPH BS came from ?
Let me assure you that with only 4.5 pounds of boost, the boat will not reach 100. Of course, that's nothing a quick pulley swap wouldn't fix
74 mph with your power is very impressive and will keep you in front of many Guns out there. Be happy.
To The Donz, hats off, that is rollin'. Beautiful boat! How much boost are you running? How hard do you turn those inches, RPM?

I COULD BE WRONG ONCE AGAIN I COULD BE WRONG BUT I THINK 9 OR 10 POUNDS OF BOOST AND THE BOAT WENT 103 MPH AT ABOUT 5500 -5600 AND IT'S CAPABLE OF 6000 RPM'S ONCE AGAIN I MIGHT BE WRONG MY OLD MAN WOULD ANSWER YA BETTER .

cignifigant other a buddy of mine bought a gun from cape cod called cool stuff 2 years ago but it had 572,s with cmi headers and old style #3,s. the boat runs in the low 80,s all day long on gps. i am almost sure it is the same boat but i did not know about any hull repairs or that it was a carbon 70. let me know where the repairs were and how bad they were. the boat supposedly came from the great lakes and does seem to flex alot in rough water. thanks Allan

Sounds like the boat, headers could have been CMI. Owners name was Mike Mc........ and he did not seem to know too much about the engines. It had old # 3's and a raised hatch for blowers with vents. Dash and guages were black and bilge painted white. It did flex a bunch on the test ride so I started digging around. Owner stated he bought the boat at an auction. I soon realized it was probably a salvage auction.
Go through the front interior hatch of the berth and hang down and look at the stringers and reinforcement for the cabin liner. Its a ***** to do, but you will soon realize someone took a saws-all and cut through everything. Then look at the repair where you step down into the cabin, it is wavy gelcoat. Then take up the storage compartment hatches. It seems to me as if the cap and cabin liner were cut loose from the hull to do starboard repairs on the bottom and the side of the hull.
Scared me off because the repairs were done with regular glass not carbon. Look at any chips in the engine bay paint, they should be black (carbon). Also remove the side interior cabin upholstery and it is black(carbon) and then repaired with glass. There was also a hole repaired on the star side of hull near the name Cool Stuff. Owner said he tried wet sanding name off that was all.....yeah right!
Price was right, speed was slow, and repairs looked very unprofessional. PM me if you want the HID # or a copy of the survey on the boat from 6/20/02, Fairhaven, MA.

I saw 2 MPH difference at WOT between fresh and salt. I'm only running about 1300HP total I imagine 3 mph is attainable with the rig and speeds "thedonz"is mentioning.

If you're really in 4 th grade you know quite a bit about Cigs. If your Gun is actually 9,400 lbs. WITH people, gas, and gear that is extremely light.
Cool Stuff, the same year, same Carbon, same engines, originally weighed a lot more. It's possible your weight did not include people, fuel, etc. though.
