Re: Gladiator
[QUOTE=ONESICKGLADIATOR]That would make scents with
Gladiator is 36'11" overall length
Top Gun is 37'6" overall length
my overlook--- missed this
But even so seven inches is different-- meaning different location of steps -- could this not cause different handling characteristics?

Re: Gladiator
[QUOTE=del sol]
The difference in the length is due to the side height or freeboard of the two boats. Since the Gladiator is "cut down" compared to the Top Gun - you automatically lose length due to the angle of the bow. Envision a Top Gun from the side and then shaving off three or four inches in height from the top of the deck down. Since the bow angles backwards - you automatically lose length. This does not mean the hull and placement of strakes, etc. is necessarily any different. The hull can still be laid up in the same mold as a TG but instead of glassing all the way to the top of the mold - they glass 90% of the way up for the Gladiator hull. This last part is all speculation on my part but the reason for the shorter hull (as measured on top of the deck) is because of the side height of the two boats.

Re: Gladiator
Yes,that could be true,but the factory still maintains that there are two seperate molds and two seperate bottoms,according to Neil.
