According to the factory, the official answer is two seperate molds and two seperate hulls. While they may look similiar because they are similiar, there is a definite difference .

Correct, there are two molds because the deck heights are different otherwise they would have to manually cut down each hull 7 inches after coming out of the mold. The bottom is the same, hull sides are shorter.......

I got an email today from this guy (Mat) that wants to trade his 2003 Gladiator for my Powerplay and some cash (obviously). The time isn't right for me right now.....buying a rental property.

Here's the link for the Gladiator if you want to trade him....

I haven't measured anything or been close enough to eyeball the bottoms of these 2 boats, but I would think that with the change in length of the boats, this would affect the design. Once you cut out 1.5 ft the balance over the steps changes also I would think. If you measure from the front or from the back there has to be different measurements on one side. I'm intrigued with the fact of the staggered glads having a tendency to chine walk, are there any staggered guns with steps? or even # 6's -- putting the weight farther forward over the steps of a gun?
What are people doing with the xr's when putting 700+ hp through them on these are they holding or is a speedy required? I know there's a few out there but have never heard how they handle it.
As far as the pre 02' mold for ts TG's I was told that the strakes were put on after as the mold did not include them -- or something close to that effect--
Don't mean to take this thread a different direction, but curious as to the differences as you change the dynamics of both these boats.
