95 Cig 20' why only Bravo III or Blackhawk

Does anyone know why Cigarette only offered the 20' in 1995 with a Bravo III or Blackhawk only? My has the Bravo III. The Bravo III seems to be used on non-performance type boats. Why didn't they use the Bravo I? I emailed Cigarette but no response.

The boat is short and big power. The Bravoa three eliminated the prop torque. Also eliminated the need for trim tabs or less use of them if installed. I have a 1974 with a volvo dual-prop and 350HP small block. the boat doesn't need tabs.

Yeah, what Cig3 said.
My '82 has a 454 and Bravo 1 set up.
Tabs are defineatly necessary for some speeds/conditions on mine.
Tends to "Torque-Roll" when accellerating from slow speeds (gee, short, overpowered, 24deg V and a radiused keal.....couldn't see that coming  ).
Not dangerous, just anoying.
Still love the little wave basher though.....

Just $0.02 from your Uncle Ernie :drink:

Hey, CIG3

There are a couple Cig 20's over here in the toledo area.
Maybe we should get a "Cig 20 Support Group Run" set some weekend.
A run with some of the locals would make believers of them :D
Amazing amount of crap these little hummers can take with out so much
as a creak or rattle. :drink:

Thanks for the posts. When I bought this 20' I was not sure I made the right purchase. It is a fun boat and the more I drive it the more I like it. It was quite an adjustment from my 27 Fountain. just wondered what was up the the b3. Anyone have one with the Blackhawk?

Ernie,

Great idea... I think that could be a great idea at Kelley's or PUt-In-Bay

How fast and what power are you running through the Bravo 3? IS there much speed loss on the top end with Bravo 3?

Thx,

jim

What's the performance like with the Bravo three? Top end? and with what power? What kind of top end is lost with the bravo three vs Bravo one?

Thnx

I am running an all stock 454 EFI. It planes quick, mid-range is good and top speed on speedo not gps is 72, so far. I have only had it out 4 times so far. Thought about a blackhawk swap but its probably is a waste of money. Boat is way more responsive than my 27 Fountain and more fun to drive.

Thanks rslick, I appreciate it. If I need to change out drives it's great to know.

Hey uncle ernie, how does your performance compare with your 454 bravo one setup. I realize you said their was some torque steer but what about true top end? Thx,

Jim
