Put the boat in the water yesterday, first time in 5 years it has seen water. There are small issues left which can be fixed this week (I hope), however, we could not get on plane with the props. Dumbfounded on that one - 16.5" dia x 34 pitch, need help, will post in Prop Talk section.

#5s dont have much negative trim. You pretty much need props with heavy cupping on the blades or they will just slip forever getting on plane, or trying to . Ive had 17x29 4 blade props that wouldn't plane at all. Everyone said i need 18 inch 5 blades. Tried a set of 16.75x28 4 blades , popped up on plane at 2800rpm.

I was going nut's with mine trying to get on plane also until I got a pair of mercury 18" dia 5blade,They made a world of a difference.I'm on plane at 2800-3000 rpms it's like a different boat with these.I tried many props from 16.5 -17.25 and these are the best. The only problem is they hurt your wallet!!
