Phil is unequivocally the best gentlemen to deal with regarding Cigarette's and I would dare say boats in general.

My experience is that he is black and white and does not suffer fools a whole lot. If you approach him I would make a point to do so when you are ready to buy and write the check if he quotes you a price you are comfortable with.

He has never misled me, always treated me as well as I expect and has an enormous amount of knowledge in performance boating. His whole team is just as serviceable also namely Mauricio and his crew and the lovely Venessa.

And I'm just a pipskweek that bought a used boat from him... If someone wants their butt kissed I would steer very clear from Phil however.

The last thing I would do is approach a dealer at a boat show...any dealer... those things are so hectic for these guys I doubt they can give anyone the attention they deserve. Boatshows are to do your homework.

Yeah Dave, it could happen. We were talking to the G father about the "big yellow" last night. On the other hand, David D is down here buyin' a T/S Gun so watch out this summer.

There are (2) Guns out there we like. One is totally out of our price range so that leaves one left . Oh ya, it's a "Lip-Ship Edition."

I've heard several stories about how people were (or were not) treated by Phil. I have had a few friends buy from him, but inparticular (Rob (Rice Hauler) and Chet (not on the board) who have bought several new Cigs from Phil and kept them at his shop. The service and attention to each customer that I saw was far and above the norm. I think Phil pioneered (or at least perfected) the "complete dealership/care facility" idea in regards to being able to buy a boat from him, have him service it, have him store it, and have him launch it for when you show up to run it.

It is definatley like GLH said. He doesn't have time to stroke anyone. And from what I've heard, if he thinks you are stroking him he wont give you the time of day.

I've got nothing but good things to say about Phil. When I was shopping for a used Cig, he was fantastic to deal with. Always more than willing to give advice and info about some of the boats on the market. I was all set to buy a Top Gun from him but it had sold before I could get all my ducks in a row. He went out of his way and hooked me up with what I feel was the nicest TG in the country within my price range. Even though it was a private sale, Phil helped arrange financing to make the deal happen. He did not make a dime off this transaction, nor did he ask for one.

Whenever I'm in the Miami area I always make a point to visit Lip Ship and drool over the beautiful Ciggies on display. I'm always greeted with a smile and a handshake.

When I'm finally in a position to purchase a new Cigarette, you can bet it will be a Lip Ship edition!

Here is what I have to say about my dealing with Phil at Lip-Ship.
I was shopping for a new gladiator with big power. I called a few cig dealers to get some prices and then I call Phil and told him what I was looking for we spoke for about an hour or more about how he would build me one of the fastest sickest gladiator ever built if this is what I really wanted. I was shocked when he gave me the price. Phil price was from $15,000.00 - $20,000.00 less then the prices I got from the other dealers. I told him to fax me over the quote so I could go over it.
15 min. later the fax was on my desk here in new york Phil listed everything he said he would put in the boat. I call Phil back and asked him how long would it take him to build this gladiator if I ordered it now. Phil told me that I could have this boat in 4 months if I order it soon. so the next day I sent him a deposit like we agreed on. This was in Sept.03 keep in mine that I have never meet Phil till Key west poker run in Nov.03 because the boat I was riding on (UP ROAR ) was from there I talk to Phil for 10 Min's about my boat he was building for me and asks if he would take me to go see it. He stopped what he was doing and took my over to the paint shop to see my boat. I do not know if you know how crazy it get at lip ship at poker run time its crazy. Here is what Phil told me in the car I know what you want so stay out of the way an let me build your boat. I learned from what Phil told me that day. So I stay Out of his way and I let him build my boat It was the best thing I could of done. Well most of you know what Phil built for me.

All I can say is that Lip Ship is first class all the way

1) Boat was in the 04 Miami Boat show
2) Boat was in June 04 Hot Boat magazine
3) This is fastest gladiator bulit to date 112 MPH
