This winter I want to remove the front bolster frames from my TG so I can paint them a different color.

I assume I can just remove the bolts that secure the bolster frames to the cockpit floor. Does Cig secure the nuts on the bottom side so they don't fall into the bilge? I don't want to remove a bolt and hear the nut drop in the bilge. That would be a nightmare to fix.

FYI, the boat is a 2002.

THey used to laminate an aluminum plate that was tapped into the floor. No NUTS.....

Its my understanding the the attachment plates are molded into the floor. I tried removing my seat bases and some of the screws were stuck forever. I think they used 5200 on the screws when they installed them. Others I've talked to had the same problem, especially on older boats. An alterative is to drill the stuck ones out and just re install the bases 3/8"-1/2" foward or back and redrill and tap new holes.
The newer boats may be different, do you have the round acess panels cut in the deck under your seats?

No, just a bunch of phillips head bolts holding the bases to the deck.
Hav'nt treid to remove anything - yet.

Just unscrew em. Hopefully since yours is a newer boat they will come loose easy. Try and get a big phillipshead screw socket and use a ratchet. Those damn screws are LONG.
