A friend of ours recently bought the 46 Rough Rider, "RumRunner." I got a nice close-up view of it today. All I can say is WOW. He owned the "600th" Top Gun before this. Dry Sump Sterling 1050's with Dry Sump #6's. Runs 115mph.

That thing is SICK!! I thought that theme was a great idea. Classy boat.
But I really don't like the dashes on the new R/R's. How the hell can you see over that big'ol dash sticking up out of the boat anyway??!!

I'm pretty sure this is a concept dash along with 46' RR American Muscle and 46' RR Stealth. All the other Rough Riders have a more practical dash like the ones pictured below.

The regular dashes are sweet! Great layout and I love the way the swithes line up to the compass at an angle. Those 3-D tab/drive indicators are so bad a$$ too! Can you buy those and install them in an older cig? How much do they run? While you were giving that cheese eatin' grin :D behind the steering wheel of the Rum Runner did you find it odd to look over the top of the dash??

Yes, the helms are very tall. I wonder if you can see when it gets up on plane . No, the 3-D indicators only come on the RR's & the new 39 Unlimted.

LS JR.

PS-Ya ready for a Cig yet?

Do you mean the monster gauges? Yes, you can re-do the dash like Greg's old Gun was. However, we just put new gauges in!!! :evilb:

No not those. The 3D gauges for the tabs/drives on the Rough Riders on top of the dash. I LOVE those things!

By the way, would you mind if I sent Craig Barrie down to you to crawl around on your boat for me??

BRING HIM ON! hahaha. Bob Carlson knows the boat too, he sold it to the previous owner. We also just had it surveyed by Ed Cozzi, he is on the board.

Right on. He offered to look at it for me the other day so I may just take him up on it. ;)

So, do you know if you can get those 3D tab/drive indicators or what??

Is that the boat from the Miami show last year? If so I thought the graphics were unbelievable. It seem to have 3D images on the sides.

We have those 3-D indicators on our 42 X so they come on those as well.

I really like that name and the way they Incorporated the pirate ship and the swords in the name. That is one hot boat. Do you think that he is going to be at any of the poker runs around the country? Where is Rum Runner's home port?

The boat will be in NJ for the summer. Your right, you can get the indicators on the 42X with the new style dash. My bad

No biggie. I love the indicators though you dont have to look down on the dash for them they are already in your sight of view when looking at the water. It is a nice feature to have in a go fast C-gar boat.

I'm also not a fan of this prototype dash, but it's still a beautiful boat... Where is it today?

seafordguy 01-24-2014 04:10 PM

It's a little bit REVO-esque, but I think I like it. Of course I have never seen one in person so who knows, but I am sure if anyone gave me a RR I'd be happy with the layout.........

SS930 01-24-2014 04:53 PM

I wonder if they ever made another dash setup like that?

They made a handful. The two stealth boats and the first American muscle have the dash like that. There's a couple more as well I'm pretty sure.

Yea, the other "stealth" was actually dubbed "night hawk". Same dif., just not all the crazy gadgets the stealth had like night vision and all digital dash. Which is kindle funny when you look back at the post fom 2002 and everyone said how futuristic the dash is...it was the RD / first edition of smart craft you see in so many gauge less boats now.

ICDEDPPL 01-26-2014 12:38 AM

Reminds me of a pinball machine like there should be a spring loaded rod to pull somewhere and a ball boucing around
