Exclamation 98 TG 500's & Hunter Graphics

Anybody know the history on this boat? It has been in the classifieds (and on Suncoast Powerboats' site) for a while and reduced a couple times. The boat seems to be clean (from the photos) and has extension boxes, 500 carbs, swim platform, full cabin, Flo-Scans, Alum trailer etc. Currently asking $125 and taking offers. Anyone know anything about it?

This is it..

I'm sure some one knows something about it.

GLH, LS, Tank, anybody else. We're trying to convert him from a Formula, guys. He's got one foot out of the Formula and into the Cig, and just needs needs a little help.

How 'bout it?

Croozin2, be sure to call Glen at Martin. Craig Barry may be there as well when you call.

Good Luck.

Well of course not - there's only one!!

Don't worry, I've also got my eyes on a couple 382's too.

Honestly, after owning this Formula I've always said there are only 2 directions I would go when it's time to replace - another Formula (382) or a Cigarette and they are both beautiful pieces. This 98 TG just seems like a great deal for the age and equipment. Hope someone has a little info on it.

Thanks guys.

James, if something comes up on the west coast I'll let you know. Maybe you could take a look when you head out there in May. I would really appreciate that. I want to come take a closer look at your rig also (pick your brain a little on the Cigs too).

Good Luck.
I don't know anything personally about it but it does look to be a SWEET ride! I like the extension boxes and that power isn't to much for the bravos. Looks real clean. wasn't there some issues with the carbed 500's lifters cracking or something like that. Once they are fixed it's all good but I thought I heard something about that. Just something to look for during an inspection.

It was a problem with the valve springs. If they have been replaced, you're good to go.

Tank, hadn't heard about the lifters but I was aware of the valve spring issue. Wouldn't hurt to update the entire valve train while it's down. Hopefully, it may have already been updated. Not with my luck though.

It was the valve springs like James said that I was thinking of. Still a sweet ride!

N2, any idea what a "ton" may be? I can do the rebuilds but I would prefer not to start off a new boat venture with that in mind.
