Re: Post your Oldschool ride!
Anyone recognize this hull/boat. From the history I can gather my Dad bought it used in 1979 in Pompono Beach, FL. He said that it was titled as a 1976 26' Custom. It measures 25'10" and the most unique part about the boat is the v-drive.
This windshield was not on the boat when my father owned the boat. When he bought it in FL it was used as a race boat and the name on the side was "Warlock." Hear are some recent photos and I will post old photos of it. http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...tday-side3.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...tday-side4.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...ntday-side.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...ntday-rear.jpg Does anyone know what it is???? Thanks, Tim |

Awesome! I'd love to see some interior pics! Is that how it came or have you already done a lot of work to it?

Aero. on the hill with Ralph Seavey and the rest as we say is History. I built the majority of the Stackers, Silo`s, and Cowbells 1969 to 1970, I still have my world championship ring from Havasau 1970, with I think Herring`s boat on the face, I`ll have to make a picture and send to you. I sure loved those motors, especially the triple stack Jones boats with Pruett, and Merten, and ???? Also Red Adair with the Red Switzer wing, great days pror to the Big Offshore stuff. Hope all is well, it would be great to work together some day again. 7XCHAMP Richie

Here's my 1980 Pantera (photo from this past Sunday). This photo cracks me up.
The Pacific was perfect this weekend. Sunday was a good size well spaced roller that was perfect for the good old straight bottom 24 degree V's. The boat is in this thread earlier, back when it lived in Lake George. (Thanks again Chris!). |

Re: Post your Oldschool ride!
It's a great boat. i'm very happy with it.
One of my favorite things is coming up fast on a big sport fish or cruiser wake and watching my passengers brace for take off only to have the boat blow right through the wake without a bump! I'm sure your old Magnum has a similar ride though! Those boats are wave crushers too! (Nocig, I'm a rubber head, I didn't read the entire post... so I now realize this doesn't apply, but fun anyhow huh?) |
Re: Post your Oldschool ride!
nocigarette,
You shouldn't kick yourself too hard. I've dropped an enormous amount of money into it and it still isn't perfect. I'm still planning on a pair of nasty 383's and it still needs the back seat reupholstered. I've replaced just about everything in the boat, motors, exhaust, wiring, guages, throttle shift and indicator cables, water pickups, every hose, every clamp, and lots of other little things. I tried to buy the best of everything and use stainless steel everywhere. I'd trade it for you're Magnum anyday. |
