Here is my old school ride:
1969 Chris Craft Commander Super Sport was the first edition of this hull. This is #001 of the High Performance version doing a prop test: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaF-7NsjExE http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...psuzk5wlrn.jpg http://i1016.photobucket.com/albums/...psaoniljyp.jpg http://i1016.photobucket.com/albums/...pshoztwonv.jpg http://i1016.photobucket.com/albums/...psuwuacryf.jpg http://i1016.photobucket.com/albums/...psrnxcobiq.jpg |

Originally came with the Chevy DZ302 from the z28 which was long gone when I got her. Now has a visually correct and healthy 350

Don't know why someone would but a real 302 in a boat, that things designed to spin 7K + build for road racing not water, anyway cool hot rod

I agree! Check out the "Special Note" in brochure near the bottom, the High Performance 310 HP (dz302) had just a 90 day factory warranty:
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y261/craigjudge/19.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y26.../backcover.jpg http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...SSWarranty.png Definitely a high rev'er designed for the Trans Am series with constant up and downshifting. The motor was rarely above 5,000 rpm for more than 5 seconds at a time. Marine motors are under full loads for long periods of time and I am sure this is why the warranty is just 90 days. The factory card from the Mariner's Museum shows the 302 in my boat was replaced under warranty with another 302 but it was long gone when I acquired her though, would have been crazy up there in those rev's for sure, especially back in the 1960's. |
I had a 73 XK 19 with a 350 FLV Chris Craft with a 280 E Drive it went 62 MPH, was my first offshore style boat still one of my most favorite boats.
