Check this post out. This must be the 'original' Putt Putt and the Velocity became Putt Putt II?

Here is my 1987 Mirage 217 intruder. I just dropped a 425HP 383 stroker in it.

By the way, Mirage is back in business. I just saw the first 257 prototype being built, they are using the same molds as the originals. The old school 217 will be built again, just like mine.

Thumbs up Re: Post your Oldschool ride!

Tell me more! I want to replace my worn out 260s with a couple of 383s. Adding another 330 hp would be a rush. Any info would be appreciated.

Hey yikes, it's Kurt from the Songo river. My buddy Dave with the 26 Sutphen dropped in a pair of 383 crate motors in his boat a couple seasons back. They sure woke up that boat! I believe he got them from Pace Cheverolet for $4850 ea.

Is your boat the brown one I worked on several years back?

Kurt

Yup That's Mother's Motor Boat. I took it out for a shake down the week before last summer's poker run and blew a plug out of the head. We made the poker run but it's a little different on a pontoon boat.
The engines are so rusty, all the bolts are breaking off flush with the heads. It's now going to be a project boat for the next few years. The last run on GPS was 62 mph all stock with prop exhaust. A couple of 383s w/thru hulls and I won't feel so left behing. Just need more cubic dollars.

Haven't seen a solid number. Depending on internal parts 400 to 425 is not unreasonable on pump gas.
